Olberman fired - again

Gut feelings. After he was demonized by the right, and kicked to the curb by MSNBC, is it any wonder? He'll be back.

so msnbc fired him because conservatives "demonized" him....hilarious...it is always the right's fault...olbermann certainly has no responsibility, it is those evil righties...

how come rush is still on the air when he "demonized" far more by the left?

Ask your cohorts...they seem to know everything. Don't ask me dumb questions, or the conversation will be cut short.

so you can't actually discuss anything...and asking about YOUR claim is dumb...that says a lot about YOUR statement.

thanks for that

It wasn't your real intention to "discuss" anything. You interjected "hyperbole", where there was none.
Then you turn around and ask me a question I'm ill-informed to answer : "how come rush is still on the air when he "demonized" far more by the left?"
If there was any hope that you had "reformed" and changed your ways, it is now gone. I'm done engaging you.

1. you made a claim that conservatives ran olbermann off the air by "demonizing" him.

2. i think ask how is that possible and give you an example of another talking head who is lambasted by the other "side" and he is still on the air.

3. the question is only "dumb" to you because if you actually answered it, your claim would show itself to be complete shit.

4. what hyperbole did i inject?

5. you always run away when someone counters your point. you're not interested in truth.

He got fired because, just like at MSNBC, he wouldn't tow the network line...kudos to him. Truth trumps political correctness, every time. Yurt doesn't get it, and never will.

You mean the network line line below:

IF this is accurate I hate this. No matter who does it I hate when video (or phone) footage is dishonestly edited to elicit a response. And the media loves nothing more than good controversy and has no problem playing white vs. black vs. hispanic in an issue like this. F*ck them.

Critics say the "Today" show attempted to incite racial anger when it cut crucial seconds from audio of a phone call placed by George Zimmerman just before he killed the teenager.

NBC News is being excoriated in some circles – with competitor Fox News Channel leading the charge – for selectively editing audio of the 911 call placed by George Zimmerman just before he killed Trayvon Martin.

The NBC segment in question featured anchor Ron Allen and ran on the Today show on Tuesday. On Thursday, Sean Hannity and guest Brent Bozell played the NBC version of the 911 call and compared it with the unedited version.

In the NBC segment, Zimmerman says: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

The full version, though, unfolds like this:

Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”

911 operator: “Okay. And this guy, is he white black or Hispanic?”

Zimmerman: “He looks black.”

After playing both versions, Hannity said: “They forgot the dispatcher’s question! How could NBC, in good conscience, do that?”

“This isn’t bias, this isn’t distortion, this is an all-out falsehood by NBC News,” answers Bozell, who runs a conservative watchdog group called the Media Research Center.

“When you hear him say, ‘he looks black,’ anyone watching that believes that there are racial overtones to what this man did,” Bozell says. “How could you not believe that? It goes with the narrative of the profiling. The only problem is, they edited out the dispatcher asking him, ‘what does he look like?’”

NBC News declined to comment.

Zimmerman, a volunteer community-watch participant shot and killed Martin on Feb. 26 in Florida, and some Democratic lawmakers and civil rights activists have called it a hate crime, accusing Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, of racially profiling Martin, who was a 17-year-old African American male.

“This is NBC News, Brent, and this is what they did at a time when emotions are running very high in this country,” Hannity said during his Thursday night TV show.

“Tom Brokaw, Matt Lauer, I wonder if they’re proud tonight?” Hannity asked.

Keith Olbermann is a man with excellent values and a brilliant mind. But he does not accept anything less than excellence from himself, his peers or his employer.

The Greek definition of happiness is full use of ones powers along the lines of excellence.

This is utter nonsense. People get fired on TV for ratings. Plain and simple. He didn't get the viewers, he lost his job.

Olbermann ranked as the highest-rated program on Current. You are wrong.

Thank you...he's the reason Current TV, was getting any "play" at all. What will they do now? Eliot Spitzer???? Are you kidding? He couldn't keep his show on CNN.

Rush Limbaugh on Monday reveled in the news that Keith Olbermann was fired from Current TV last week, calling the TV personality an “insane lunatic leftist.”

“The month of March in the United States opened with the left convinced that they were finally going to drive me off the air once and for all. By the end of the month I’m still on the air with a higher audience,” Limbaugh said on his afternoon program. “In that month Al Gore [has] fired Keith Olbermann, thrown him off the air and replaced him with ‘Client No. 9.’”

The mention of “Client No. 9” was a reference to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, whose new show, “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer,” kicked off last Friday to replace “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.” Spitzer, who briefly co-hosted “Parker Spitzer” on CNN with columnist Kathleen Parker, saw his political career come to an abrupt end in 2008 when he was linked to a prostitution ring and famously identified as “Client 9.”

Limbaugh, who recently came under fire after he called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” on the air, said on his show Monday, “If Olbermann were anything other than an insane lunatic leftist — which is a resume enhancement — he wouldn’t get hired.”
