Bill Cosby blames "that gun" for Trayvon Martin's death in February -- forget racism or self-defense.

"I'm a person who believes that that gun, that gun, all around this United States -- when a person has a gun sometimes their mind clicks that this thing is, it will win arguments and straighten people out, and then in the wrong hands and the wrong mind, it's death," he said on CNN in an interview that aired Sunday.

He said he wasn't talking about having a gun for self-defense in the home, but made the point "that when you tell me that you're going to protect the neighborhood that I live in, I don't want you to have a gun.

"I want you to be able to see something, report it, and get out of the way. ... I don't want you to get hurt, and I don't want to hurt anyone."

Didn't some JPP righties cite Cosby recently while they tried to justify the murder of an unarmed kid?

Now watch 'em dance....

one more individual I can cross off of my liked celebrity list. not a great loss I guess.

Here is something for you to get excited, every home should have one.

LOL, watch Sheriff Joe wannabe change his tune...

Poet will now call Cosby a sell out, or a step-n-fetch it; but the truth is, Cosby is correct.
At what point does the "victim" begin to take responsibility for their OWN FUTURE?

I'm not so willing to write him off; because his own personal loss.
He doesn't seem to be condemning gun ownership and does appear to be focusing on public carry.

He at least is able to voice his opinion, without resorting to falling into the blame bame that the liberal left are so wont to do.

49% of US murders are committed by blacks whilst comprising 13% of the population, those are the stark statistics. They may well be inaccurate but I very much doubt if they are out by a factor of four.

A break down of my family and extended family embraces all ethinic groups except Asian, that I know of.
I've told all of the "children", at one time or another, that during the 60's people went to jail to insure that their children and beyond could receive a good education and that now we have an entire generation that have forgotten this and instead are throwing their educational opportunities down the toilet.

There have also been conversations about how the "public and employeers" will view you.

If some people would take the time to talk to some older Hispanic and/or Black individuals, they might just be surprised how they feel about how this newest generation presents itself.

cue poet calling you a racist

I don't deny that there is still serious racism in the US but it is hard to account for those figures by solely using that as an explanation. Especially considering that the majority of black murders are intra-racial. I am also given to understand that the primary cause of death amongst young black men aged 16-29 is by violence.

there is racism in every corner of the world. i find it deplorable that poet discounts stats based solely on the color the statisticians skin color. i find it amazing that he doesn't think that is racism. i find it further amazing that his lefty groupies, dune, legion et al, don't find that racist. wait....dune only thinks it is racist if you make the statistician black. but he has no problem if the statistician is white.

how messed up is that?

cosby used to own a gun. he used to be one of the special ones given a concealed license in california and new york. His son being killed has focused his attention on the wrong aspect of his sons death, so now he wants all private citizens prohibited from carrying, which won't stop the criminals.

In the comments being addressed; I didn't see him promoting any prohibition.

it is the irresponsible person that uses a weapon (even hands (fists) and feet) that is in the wrong

I understood it to mean that he's not convinced that Neighborhood watches need to be armed.

hmmm, he probably should have been more specific on that point. otherwise it's really a contradiction in terms. If I read it by your meaning, he's promoting the Obama DHS theme of 'if you see something, say something', but don't get involved in any other way. Yet one more issue I have with the two major parties, this idea that we mere civilians are somehow not capable of providing for our own security.

So if you do as you say and you make a mistake, are you prepared for the consequences?

I'm not going to get involved in a gun control debate.
This was about what Cosby said and I have no intentions of "reading" into his words, what he might be saying.
