Ann Romney opened up about their family dog, who was strapped to the roof of their car in a crate during vacations in the 1980s — insisting the pet pooch looked forward to the trips.
Ann Romney confirmed the details of one of Seamus' trips that has come under particular scrutiny — a 12-hour drive from Boston to Canada in 1983.
During the ride, the dog got sick and defecated all over himself and the windshield of the car.
That provoked the former Massachusetts governor to get out of the vehicle and hose it down before putting the canine back on the roof for the rest of the trip.
She said the dog got sick only "once"...
