Change and revitalization take time especially when one has to deal with the Republicans, the party of "NO". One of the basic ingredients for freedom and prosperity is ones health. If one does not feel well or is lacking certain nutrients the first step is to correct that problem. The second thing is security. Social programs do a lot more than just help in the time of need. They allow people to concentrate on doing their job without worrying if they're going to end up on the street.

Social programs can be implemented without major cost. If small, less prosperous countries can do it so can the US. When the country was founded there were limitless opportunities for one to get land, build a home, hunt for food, etc. Times have changed. The opportunity to acquire life's necessities require interacting with others.

Obama is trying to change with the times, deal with the new reality. It's time others did, as well, but many are kicking and scratching while being dragged along. It's time for everyone to get behind Obama and take that chance on change that you mentioned.

I have 1408 friends.
A third of them "white". And a third of them Houstonians. If I sponsored an event, like a public "reading" of a fuckwad, I'm sure I'd get a couple of hundred takers. I'm gonna be 60 years old, in December. I don't play.

poet, I don't know you at all except through this monitor but if you held a public event and I thought for one moment any of these idiots were planning to show up for a personal with you then you can be assured I would also be there with my 62 year old ass.
