The photo in the Situation Room...

Politics aside, I have been wondering about the photo that the White House released from the Situation Room the day Bin Laden was killed.

Why is the President sitting in the corner in a little chair?

Some will say it shows that he was marganalized and not a part of the decision, but if that is the case, why did they release the photo, and wouldent the president have been image awaire enough to have insisted on a more staged photo?

It might be that the General at the head of the table was leading the mission and the president properly allowed him the seat that gave him the best view and comand position. If thats the case the president is to be comended because he let the military expert do his job and did not let ego and image get in the way of the best way to accomplish the mission.

We know Biden tried to talk the president out of giving the go ahead, but even Biden had a nicer more real seat at the table.

That photo perplexes me.

1) Who will say the President was marginalized and not a part of the decision? Seriously, do you take remedial straw man classes?

2) They probably were worried more about the mission than who sat where and how some brain dead lawyer might worry about the photo a year after it was taken.

.

Anyone w/ ODS?

Seriously, after some of the tripe you guys have posted about Obama, I wouldn't have been shocked at all to see an "Obama marginalized in photo - weak leader" thread....

"Conservative" just said it!

I belive that they were more worried about the decision but, I still would have thought the president would have taken the head of the table.

Ive been watching the Brian Williams report, on the web, they are explaining it now.

I guess that was a secondary room that had the best feed of information so the President left the big room and went into the secondary room.

When he walked in, General Brad Webb was at the head of table. They all stood up and began to reorder there positions under protocal but the president said for everyone to stay where they were. Someone brought him a chair from the other room and that was that.

Why would they give a fuck about where they sat?

The White House is very very formal about that type of stuff, they follow protocal very closely. The military is also very protocal concsious. Unless the President says otherwise they follow protocal and that certantly includes where people sit at a conference table, especally during a mission.

Next attack line: Obama is disrespectful to the Office of the President by ignoring such formalities and denigrates the office with his cavalier attitude towards protocol and kicking his feet up in the oval office and stuff.

I also wonder about how the President is dressed, everyone else is formally dressed, many in suit and tie.

Sorry, I was not aware we were interrupting one of your straw man creation classes. Do carry on. Jarod needs a lot of help.
