It's really not. A majority of Americans support it because large majorities in the most populous states support it. Those states are blue states.

Coming out for it before the election could possibly cost him one swing state, and one swing state could cost him the election. If he wins, it's coming. If he doesn't, it's coming anyway it'll just take longer. Either way gay marriage is here and it's not going anywhere.

I can't help thinking that some of this is about pissing off the powers that be. I think that there would be a huge difference if same sex unions were termed civil partnerships instead of marriage. I can see why many religious people are incensed about the use of the word marriage, as they consider this word is exclusively for male female partnerships. When it comes down to it, what difference does it really make?

this is just one more example of how people have gotten so stupid as life has gone on. constitutions are documents that define and restrict GOVERNMENT!!!! The first time you open that up to define and restrict actions of WE THE PEOPLE, we all lose. STOP BEING STUPID!!!!!
 
Hey Granule, tell us about all the jobs this law will create, and how it will reduce North Carolina's budget deficit. Because last time I checked the economy is the most important issue on voters' minds.

In California, we voted to ban homo marriages, unfortunately it was overturned in the courts by a cock sucking gay judge. Hopefully that will not be the case for N.C.

Progress is inevitable. My message to social conservatives is this: you may win in the short term. You might be successful at regulating women's uteruses, denying equality to millions of your fellow Americans, and destroying science education with your fairy tales. But in the end, social liberalism wins every time.
