He lied on TV to the American public, it was something that did not happen 50 years ago in high school as a kid. It happened while he was President of the United States.

You're a girl. Older guys used to always pin me and my friends down with their knees on our arms and they would repeatedly poke hard on our chest until we could list 12 type of cigarettes or any topic they came up with. Freaking sucked but was pretty much a rite of passage.

It is an accurate response. I do not remember ever doing such a thing.

As for what my response would be had Romney had a "D" after his name, it would be, "Dude, this is something that happened in High School. It simply isn't relevant."

If you've read Robert Caro's books about LBJ he showed personality and character traits of LBJ as a child that stayed very consistent throughout his lifetime. Now if this was an isolated incident of Romney being a d*ck while in high school then there is really not much to the story. If it is shown that there were repeated incidents like this throughout the years I think that would tell a different story.

I've haven't followed this story all that closely so I don't know if this was an isolated incident or not.

If you believe what Robert Caro wrote yes he was. It's too bad Caro couldn't dedicate the time he did to LBJ to many other people because he is an absolutely amazing writer. The thing with LBJ is he is sympathetic to him yet holds nothing back in decribing him, all warts on the table. He treated Lady Bird like sh*t as well as most other people. He used people to help him achieve political power and the ultimate goal of becoming President. That being said he had amazing political gifts and talents. My guess is many/most of those who have read the books and support what he did politically (well at least the civil rights and great society portion) would still say he was a real asshole as a person.

I don't care so much that he did what he did in HS, I care about his swarmy response, his pretend apology and that he claims not to remember something that serious. I care that hacks pretend that saying he does not remember is reasonable.
