A common misconception that most people have. When it comes to wellness and nutrition you might as well be talking religion cause most people will believe what they want to believe and silly little things like facts become irrellevent.

Now I'm not saying this is easy but keep in mind, wellness isn't something that comes from the outside in. There is no magic bullet. Wellness comes from the inside out and the cure for obesity already exist. It's scientifically proven and it has a 100% proven success rate. It's has two basic fundamental principles.

#1. Eat less.
#2. Work more.

If you do these two things, I guarantee that you, or anyone, will lose weight.

Now again, it's not easy as most people would rather eat bags of Cheetos, drink beer and watch re-runs of Gilligans Islands but those are the facts and this does work.

My BFF has a free membership to a health club as part of her job bennies. She didn't stick to that any more than all the diets she's tried.

I think there's a time period you have to go through before you can make a permanent change in your habits. Possibly a month? The new habits need some time to get ingrained to the point where you're not backsliding at the sight of Doritos.

Argh...you have hit upon my 2nd biggest weakness...not Doritos specifically but chips and salsa or potato chips of almost any flavor. I do not buy them so that I am not tempted...because temptation leads to consumption where I am concerned. To the habits thing...the exercising, yes, I do agree. But eating right would definitely take longer, IMO. I haven smoked in almost two years but could backslide in a heartbeat. Love the smell and relish the memory. I figure it would be about the same as eating right.

I don't have two free hours in most days from August until May. I put on 20 pounds then and lose it in June. When I have the time, I'm plenty active, but I prefer walking and running. But take last week, for instance...the only day I was home before dark was Wednesday. I know, excuses. I could eat less this time of year too. I just need to retire. :)
Well it's a matter of priorities. I struggle to find the time to exercise too but I know that the time does exist and that I'm just rationalizing to place my priorities elsewhere. The cold hard truth is that if being fit is important to me, and it is, then I'll make the time to get the needed amount of exercise. If I don't, I have no one to blame but myself. :) I actually do pretty good on the diet front. My "part time" vegetarianism works well for me.

I saw Christy a couple of months ago on TV and he looked really slim in the face, but by the next time I saw him, he had the bloated neck again.

He's got no chance to win anyway. He's about as liked as Mitt Romney by the deep rooted republicans and it's not because Christy took a walk with Obama after the hurricane. No, it's because christy isn't a 100% partisan. Christy is an east coast republican.
My kind of Republican. As long as the GOP is dominated by southern conservatism and their backwards radicalism the GOP will remain a minority party at the national level.

Mark it down. Christie will not win the nomination and I'll go as far to predict he wont even win the primaries in western liberal states like California and Washington.
Fine with me. He's the GOP's only current hope of winning the Presidency. None of the ideologues, teabaggers or southern reactionaries stands a snow ball chance in hell.

the hard core "my way or the highway" brand of tea baggers can only win in regional elections... they don't have anywhere near enough broad based appeal to compete nationally.

Behavior modification is indeed the hardest aspect of managing obesity. The cure is easy. Changing ones behavior is hard.

Only because the lamestream media, which is the propaganda machine for the Communist Party (Democraps), keep touting their Dear leader.
