219-212... Health Care Bill Passes..

Bottom line: the insurance companies are going to clean up...especially in the next 4 years....but they are pissed because they are being made to toe the line in a few aspects.

Bottom line: this bill is swiss cheese....but it's better than no cheese at all.

The neocon driven GOP made this Obama's Waterloo....only they didn't realize that Bohner and DeMint were vying for the role of Bonaparte! Man, the anti-Obama lies and BS rhetoric is going to go into overdrive now....much to my entertainment!
Dude... they aren't pissed. You'd be thrilled, just like they are, if you had a law that forced people to buy your product. Imagine, next time there is a downturn in the car market we can just pass a law that forces people to buy a new GM car... there's precedent.

So when does the shootin' begin? I mean they passed it, are the "oath keepers" and 3%ers gonna wait till 2013 or are they going to start killing Pelosi's grandchildren next week. Inquiring minds want to know. Brown couldn't kill the bill so is Browning going to? Come on oath keepers get with it and show us what you got! You talked the talk now walk the fucking walk. I won't hold my breath.

I'm pretty sure they'll wait until after the lawsuits. It may be struck down and shooting wouldn't be necessary...

:D

I find it disgusting that health insurance will be mandated without a public option.
I'm more disgusted that my choices are more limited than before, and they were pretty limited then, allowing people to shop across state lines would at the least give people more choices, and at the most would maintain some semblance of personal choice in this matter. And having no option for catastrophic coverage with higher deductibles for those who can afford those things is simply corporate welfare...

From all the jizz? Yeah, hard to stop yourself when the Feds pass a law requiring everybody to have your product...

Yeah, I was scratching my head trying to figure out what he was saying, and then it dawned on me, he's another one of those who think this is BAD for insurance companies. LOL You gotta be kidding me. 30 million new mandated customers( under threat of jail and /or federal penalty) and they're supposed to be distraught?

That must be some good weed there on the island

How about this government hiring 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce this?

And of course, once it passed, you do a complete 180 on the topic just so you can swallow some more party line.

I am so disapointed in Americans that this was harder to get done than the War against Iraq!
It does speak volumes about the conservative movement that they care more about an immoral war in the middle east then what is in the best interest of their fellow citizens. But I guess that goes with out saying or we would have never invaded Iraq in the first place.

Yeah, it only took more than an entire goddamn year to get the centerpiece of what we campaigned on passed.
and he accomplished a hell of a lot less then he intended too. Be that as it may. Pandora's box is now open. Once he signs the bill it will be to late to go back. This will become a hugely popular program like social security.

I agree whole heartedly. However the present legislation has bench marks that must be met by a certain time frame and if those bench marks are not met then the public option is back on the table again. The only other option to that is to require health insurance companies to operate as non-profits.
