You may be right that -eventually-, Russia will considering taking Odessa to be crucial. I just don't think that it's gotten to that point yet.
If you accept the fact that the US is an empire, you'll know Ukraine is a US colony with Zelensky being a US puppet like the Shah of Iran who allowed western corporations to rob them blind. My question is if the Ukrainian people will rise up like Iranians and throw the US out.

With the twist that he is primarily managed by our lap dogs the Brits.

After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, I question if the Brits are wagging the dog. Why do US taxpayers continue spending money protecting imperialist Europe?
The Brits dont believe they are lap dogs, they think that they taught the Americans everything there is to know about running Empire, that they are very important people......to a great degree they never processed that the British Empire is long gone.

Delusions of grandeur.

They are however trying to prove their value to America, drawing on their many generations of experience in the region, and hating Russians.

You nailed it. We will be in Ukraine for a very long time.

Causing chaos and misery.....that's what America does.

I love Karen Kwiatkowski but she told judge Nap Ukraine was done. The exact opposite of what we know about imperialism. I don't know what to believe.

What should happen is that the Russians pick the government of the Rump of Ukraine, but I doubt that will be the case, thus ROU will be the launch pad for terrorism against Russia for as far as the eyes can see. I have been told that the Imperial Empire has been training ISIS-K up for the mission in Libya and Serbia.

The Russians are increasingly clear that Odessa will be Russian.
In 2022, on the first day of the Russian Invasion, Russia landed and captured Snake Island which controlled the coast of Odesa. Within days of the start of the war, Russians crossed the Dnipro River unopposed, captured Kherson, and were moving towards Odesa. They had Odesa hemmed in on the sea, and were advancing on the land.

Then everything fell apart. The Russian Army was defeated in the field, and retreated to Kherson. They were defeated again in Kherson, and retreated to the other side of the Dnipro. The Ukrainians were even able to capture a beachhead on the left side of the Dnipro. The Russian Navy was sunk at sea, and now the few remaining ships hide in ports as far from Ukraine as possible. The Russian Marines surrendered Snake Island, and fled.

The Russian Army has been unable to cross the Dnipro River, now that it is opposed. The Russian Navy hides far away from Odesa. Neither have any hope of getting to Odesa.

Putin has to take Odesa if he wants to save Russia.
And yet he has no way of taking Odesa. Does that mean Russia is over?

Russia cannot allow Blackrock to have access to a port.
Blackrock, an investment company, is buying the ports around the Panama Canal. Russia can do nothing about this. I am really not sure why you think Russia would have any say in Panama's ports. Are you confused on some point?

The fight for Odesa will be a bloody end to NATO.
Russia is nowhere near getting across the Dnipro River, much less making it as far as Odesa. Even if they did, NATO would not end. NATO has hundreds of ports of its own, and does not need to send supplies through Ukraine.

Columbia has lost tens of thousands of mercenaries and they're nowhere near the North Atlantic.
If anyone lost tens of thousands of western mercenaries, there would be tens of thousands of western families complaining about their lost loved ones. Columbia is about 30 miles from the Atlantic... So very close. Are you sure you are thinking of Columbia University?

The whole thing is retardation and they are both the same, but they need to stop killing each other.
They both wanna drink vodka after 11 and lie a lot.
It's Russians.
You are getting close to Putin's problem. When Estonia started getting a Western European lifestyle, he told the Russians they were different, so Russians cannot get that lifestyle. If Ukrainians start getting a Western European lifestyle, then Russians will expect it too.

Unlike goat, I don't see any evidence that Russia -needs- to have Odessa at this point. That being said, the longer this war goes on, the more they may come to believe that they do.
And how would they do this? They consider Kherson to be the capital of one of their provinces, a part of Russian territory, and cannot capture it. They would need to capture Kherson on the way to Odesa.

TL;DR. Learn how to have a 21st century conversation.

You lack the ability to skip to your part of the conversation?

Sorry to hear that.
I don't have time to scroll through your bullshit. Russia has a security agreement with Iran and North Korea. Imperialism has to use nukes or fade away.

So Russia is going to stop BlackRock from buying ports in Panama? Why and how? Columbia University is hiring mercenaries to get to the Atlantic? Again, why and how? NATO needs Odesa as a port? It has hundreds of better ports.

NATO is fat and lazy with a bunch of nukes. I believe they will use them in an attempt to stay in power.

That is a random claim. There are three NATO countries that have nuclear weapons: Britain, France, and the USA. Britain and France have shown no eagerness to use nuclear weapons. Do you think trump is about to use nuclear weapons? I believe a lot of bad things about trump, but I doubt he is on the verge of using nuclear weapons.

We'll have to wait for the upcoming global collapse. I want to believe we the people still have the power but who knows.

Your comment reminds me of something Jake Sullivan, Biden's National Security Advisor, told American Professor and Statesman Jeffrey Sachs a little before Russia began its war with Ukraine. I'll quote the section where he is said to have said "there will be no war" shortly before Russia began its war in Ukraine, putting the actual words in orange to make it easier to spot below:

**
Then Biden came into office in 2021. I hoped for better but was profoundly disappointed once again. I used to be a member of the Democratic Party. I now am a member of no party because both are the same anyway. The Democrats became complete warmongers over time, and there was not one voice in the party calling for peace. Just as with most of your parliamentarians, the same way.

At the end of 2021, Putin put on the table a last effort to reach a modus operandi with the U.S., in two security agreement drafts, one with Europe and one with the United States. He put the Russia-U.S. draft agreement on the table on Dec. 15, 2021.

Following that, I had an hour-long call with [National Security Advisor] Jake Sullivan in the White House, begging, “Jake, avoid the war. You can avoid the war. All the U.S. has to do is say, ‘NATO will not enlarge to Ukraine.’” And he said to me, “Oh, NATO’s not going to enlarge to Ukraine. Don’t worry about it.”

I said, “Jake, say it publicly.”

“No. No. No. We can’t say it publicly.”

I said, “Jake, you’re going to have a war over something that isn’t even going to happen?”

He said, “Don’t worry, Jeff. There will be no war.”

These are not very bright people. I’m telling you, if I can give you my honest view, they’re not very bright people. They talk to themselves. They don’t talk to anybody else. They play game theory. In noncooperative game theory, you don’t talk to the other side. You just make your strategy. This is the essence of non-cooperative game theory. It’s not negotiation theory. It’s not peacemaking theory. It is unilateral, noncooperative theory, if you know formal game theory.

That’s what they play. That kind of game theory started [in application] at the RAND Corporation. That’s what they still play. In 2019, there’s a paper by RAND, “Extending Russia: Competing from Advantageous Ground.”

Incredibly, the paper, in the public domain, asks how the U.S. should annoy, antagonize, and weaken Russia. That’s literally the strategy. We’re trying to provoke Russia, trying to make Russia break apart, perhaps have regime change, maybe unrest, maybe an economic crisis.

That’s what you in Europe call your ally. So, there I was with my frustrating phone call with Sullivan, standing out in the freezing cold. I happened to be trying to have a ski day.

“Oh, there’ll be no war, Jeff.”

We know what happened next: the Biden administration refused to negotiate over NATO enlargement. The stupidest idea of NATO is the so-called open-door policy, based on Article 10 of the NATO Treaty (1949). NATO reserves the right to go where it wants, as long as the host government agrees, without any neighbor – such as Russia — having any say whatsoever.

Well, I tell the Mexicans and the Canadians, “Don’t try it.” You know, Trump may want to take over Canada. So, the Canadian government could say to China, “Why don’t you build a military base in Ontario?” I wouldn’t advise it. The U.S. would not say, “Well, it’s an open door. That’s Canada’s and China’s business, not ours.” The U.S. would invade Canada.

Yet grownups, including in Europe, in this Parliament, in NATO, in the European Commission, repeat the absurd mantra that Russia has no say in NATO enlargement. This is nonsense stuff. This is not even baby geopolitics. This is just not thinking at all. So, the Ukraine War escalated in February 2022 when the Biden Administration refused any serious negotiations.
