3.2% inflation

And it is very deliberate.

Republi'cans' simple do not want Dems to ever inherit a strong economy when citizens are feeling more wealthy as then it is hard to stop the new Dem admin doing things to benefit average citizens. The republi'cans' look at every dollar the Dems want to spend on improving the lives of average american's as one that they could instead give to rich donors and corporations.

So their goal is ALWAYS to do things that they know will negatively impact the economy in a few years (such as Trump gutting revenues while piling on debt), to get corporations and donors a huge benefit, but also setting up the type of society concern later, that allows them to scream at Dems 'to clean up the debt, we Republi'cans' created'.

it is like having an abusive spouse, who runs up the family debt massively while the other spouse is forced to focus and pay it down. The one running up debt irresponsible, actually gets the credit from the kids, as they feel richer when that spending is being done (holidays, new cars, etc) whereas the one forced to pay it down, is seen negatively as they push the family to tighten the belt. Do with less.

To me, the idea of what 'benefits the average citizen' can be very subjective. I'll look at what we do in California. We pass energy policies, in the name of supporting the environment and fighting climate change, that make our gas prices $5 - $6 gallon, electrical bills sky high etc. We make building new housing extremely difficult which benefits those who are already own their home and are often well to do and make it almost impossible for the average citizen to purchase a home and make renting costs sky high as well. I could go on.

So working class folks here complain all the time about the cost of living. And this is a state with very few Republican politicians. So this idea that simply voting Democratic benefits the average citizen has some holes in it.

Here are the stats for Trump's presidency. He inherited a vibrant and growing economy from Obama who was handed a disaster by Bush. https://www.factcheck.org/2021/10/trumps-final-numbers/
He did make the wealth gap widen bigly.

U.S. economic growth slowed in 2016 to 1.6%

The U.S. economy lost momentum in the final three months of 2016, closing out a year in which growth turned in the weakest performance in five years, with the yearly rate down to 1.6 percent.

GDP growth fell from 2.6% in 2015 to 1.6% in 2016. Yet that equates to a vibrant and growing economy? Yes, positive GDP is still technically growth but when speaking about a growing economy it usually entails year over year growth, not slowing down.

But I'm open to hearing how those numbers entail vibrant and growing.

You lose but you are now an appropriate Patriot fan. Losing will not bother you.

If the Patriots sucking were my biggest problem, Breakdown, I'd be truly a very lucky man.

My biggest problem was having had the wrong number
when PowerBall was at a billion and a half.

Patience. If you want to buy a home but the prices (and interest) are too high, wait and save as much as you can. Postpone any large purchases that require financing if you can. Invest in things like T-bills that are paying actual decent (5%) interest right now. This too shall pass.

How about a wealth tax to fund free day care, jobs programs, free post secondary education. Single payer health care. Restructuring of income and corporate tax codes. Obviously the supply side economic theories have been debunked. The only way to truly fix this economy is be significantly reducing the wage/wealth gap. It’s unsustainable.

Just because you can't get ahead delivering french fries for Uber Eats doesn't mean that everyone struggling like you are.
