That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense as does the rape charges, if he had sex with at least one of them a day then that would amount to something like 3000 charges of rape. It seems pretty pointless as it is clear enough that he will never be let out again.

Pretty much - In criminal law, kidnapping is the taking away or transportation of a person against that person's will, usually to hold the person in false imprisonment, a confinement without legal authority.

If someone breaks into your home and forces you to go with them, as they search the house, and let's say they move into and back out of 6 rooms; technically they have committed 6 counts of kidnapping.

It will amaze me if this goes to trial; because of the number of charges and the fact that many of them have the death penatly attached to them, this will be plea bargained.
But due to appeals and such, there exists the probability that some charges may be dismissed or overturned.
This will definetly insure that he stays incarcerated, even if he ends up only being convicted of one of them.
Personally, I hope he committs "suicide".

then why not 365 counts for each year for each girl........177 seems so random......
 
Giving someone a standard charge such as "life" or even "life without parole" is no guarantee in this system. Giving them some bizarre number such as 2000 years ensures that they never see the light of day.

If someone is similarly bombarded with capital charges, I believe it speeds up the process toward death.

They're building aggravating circumstances in an attempt to obatin a death penalty upon conviction.
