You never need to justify a 'need' for any weapon or accessory to a weapon. I you want a large magazine for your gun, the government has no authority to limit or ban it.

Anything more than single shot is considered a 'high capacity magazine' by some idjits here!
Like whom? Pistols hold about 6 bullets. Is that high capacity? Some can do more, I added that because bird the quibbler is here. As usual, he presumes to speak for other people and is wrong again.

Revolvers hold typically 6 rounds. Semi-automatic pistols hold anywhere from about 7 to 15 depending on the size and caliber of the pistol. A typical 9mm full size pistol holds 15 rounds in a magazine.

Yes, it was. It was general because the founders were smart enough to know they could not predict the future. Franklin said every generation should rewrite it to suit the times. For some reason, he said every 19 years. The founders did not think it was a holy writ. They knew it would change for the times. Now rightys think they know what they were thinking and believed and it should not be changed. They battled over the writing of the constitution because the articles of confederation failed. It was not a happy constitution to many.

they created an amendment process for those changing times, NOT so that the government could step in and redefine their limits and restrictions. NOBODY has to know what they were thinking, only what they wrote about it.
lastly, WE THE PEOPLE are the owners of that Constitution. WE THE PEOPLE ratified it. It belongs to us, not to the courts. the courts are bound by the limitations placed upon them by that Constitution. And it was Jefferson that said it should be rewritten, not Franklin.
Many Repubs say they are going by what the founders thought and intended. You 2nd amendment lovers misinterpret it badly. I have never had to shoot my way out to the mall and back. Over 80 percent of cops never pull their guns. Yet you guys need military gear to go anywhere. You do not. And we all suffer from that misbelief.

Cops are trained professionals. You gun lusters are not. The point is cops who go into the worst circumstances and meet the worst people rarely have to pull a gun out., Even fewer have to shoot them But you guys think you require military weapons and huge clips for safety. Of course, a gun in your home makes it more likely a family member will be shot.
