53% of American supports Obama's plan

IMHO, we should've just skipped the whole process and expanded medicare to everyone. But clearly, Democrats who support single-payer want this to lead to single-payer. Democrats who don't don't.

you just shot yourself in foot moron....you just admitted this bill is fucked up and there is stuff in it that concerns people....stop saying the right is only lying about this, both sides are giving false information about the bill and the majority of us our actually trying to figure out what it is....that you actually claim your stupid poll is accurate is laughable

Translation: When presented with only the spin from the left, with no other input, people will believe the propaganda. This means the left would actually be successful if they could actually shut down all debate, so instead of coming up with something people will support even when they are educated on it, we'll continue to attempt to marginalize the protest.

When presented with only facts, instead of purely the lies that the right tells (which is 90% of peoples only real source of information on this, thanks to the conservative media) they support it.

so, does anyone have a list of the "facts" that were presented?....if not, this poll is less than meaningless....

Umm no. Rasmussen remains the most reputable polling firm other than PEW. Stick to what you know. You don't and never have known anything about polling.

Really? Their issue polling or their tracking polls? Or are you not making a distinction between the two?

I agree that their tracking polls and horserace polls are generally first rate, but the same cannot be said for their issue polls.

actually the profit makes a good point

This is the question that gets the 53% favorability rating:

Now I am going to tell you more about the health care plan that President Obama supports and please tell me whether you would favor or oppose it.

The plan requires that health insurance companies cover people with pre-existing medical conditions. It also requires all but the smallest employers to provide health coverage for their employees, or pay a percentage of their payroll to help fund coverage for the uninsured. Families and individuals with lower- and middle-incomes would receive tax credits to help them afford insurance coverage. Some of the funding for this plan would come from raising taxes on wealthier Americans.

Do you favor or oppose this plan? (IF "FAVOR/OPPOSE," ASK: ) And do you strongly or only somewhat (favor/oppose) this plan?

And for the jackasses poo-pooing this poll because it was an "NBC poll" please note that it was not an "NBC poll" but a "NBC-Wall Street Journal poll."

I guess the WSJ is in the tank for Obama, too.

Tracking polls specifically but I would still say their issue polling is more reputable than NBC's.

Here's the question exactly how it was asked:

1In April 2009, this question was worded, “…the health care plan President Obama proposed…”

What I find most interesting from the poll is this bit:

Strong Democrat ..............................
24
Not very strong Democrat.................
9
Independent/lean Democrat .............
8
Strictly Independent ..........................
22
Independent/lean Republican ...........

WAY more people are willing to admit they're some kind of Democrat than are willing to say they're some kind of Republican.
