When I was a kid, fast-food jobs were viewed as jobs for teenagers or beginners’ jobs. It is a testament to just how bad the economy under Obama is that these are now considered not only career moves, but worth fighting, dying and being fired for. My how things have changed.

Obama has nothing to do with this, it's the GOP and Business who have resisted minimum wage increases over the years! Remember they kept the minimum wage at $5.15 for almost ten years! (1997-2006)

The dullards argument; arbitrarily raise the minimum wage to some brain dead notion that one can live on fast food part time wages...then watch inflation eat up the new increases so we can do it again in three years.

Democrats; the dumbest people on the planet. Yes, you people really are THAT incredibly stupid.

Another dullards argument is this notion about the working poor. If you're poor, you probably aren't working or are some welfare queen popping out babies from numerous baby daddies or smoking crack.

Yes, you people really are THAT incredibly stupid.

I think it should be raised, but not by a huge amount. I've heard people at the furthest end of the spectrum say ~13$ which is ridiculous in my opinion. I think closer to 9$ is reasonable enough to be in that sweet spot of enough pay to get some shit done (pay for some schooling, buy food etc), but not enough to think you can live comfortably and support a family on, and make staying in such a dead-end job worthwhile.

I'm curious as how wage inflation will combat inflation. I mean, I know the expression fight fire with fire and all that, but that's grounded in science. It's not a magic formula for everything.

Why is $13 ridiculous and $9 isn't?

Why not make it $11.50?

How about $12.50?

Why not make it $25/hour that way we don't have to keep coming back to it and these people can finally "live their wage"?

Give me the reason why you wouldn't support a minimum wage of $13 or $25? Why is it too high?

don't you think if people start getting paid more, people/businesses will naturally just raise all their prices? say you own an apartment complex and charge x amount per month. Oh, all my poor residents are now getting 3 bucks more per hour i.e. 120 more a week? Guess rent is going up to 500 bucks more a month cause I know they can afford it.

I like how the propaganda machine has started slowwwwwwly morphing the conversation of "minimum wage" with it now being a "living wage."

no one was ever supposed to raise 3 kids by serving coffee at starbucks. sorry no one is valued that high. It just blows my mind how fucking stupid some liberals are. Derrrrrr I had 4 kids and I should make 25 dollars on hour working at burgerking durrrrrrrrr. If you dont' pay me I can't be responsible for the crappy choices I have made in life durrrrrrr give me money I deserve your tax dollars for my poor decision making durrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You are incorrect. A business doesn't adjust pricing because their customer for a raise. That is economic ignorance. There is a concept called elasticity of demand. Look it up.

Now I agree that setting arbitrary pricing by the gobblement is wrong but we have to argue on sound economic principles.

If minimum wage increases have zero negative impact as the left claims then they shouldn't have a problem raising the minimum wage to $50,000 a year
