7.7

I am glad that so many people are dropping out of the work force thus giving the illusion of increased job growth. It will only hasten the demise of this once great country which is the only way to resurrect freedom. Then we can go about breaking off into our own little groups. The left wingers and their coalition of moochers and decadent pieces of shit can all move to Commiefornia and New York and the rest of us productive folks will take all of the nukes and military weapons (which libtardiots say they hate) and move to Oklahoma and Texas and live in peace and prosperity while the libtardiots feed off of each others bones

And its going to get better.....unfortunately, they are low paying part time work for the holidays....happens every year....

So crow while you can, they will disappear in January as quickly as they appeared in Nov./Dec.

the unemployment rate fell to a four-year low in November from 7.9 percent in October mostly because more people stopped looking for work and weren't counted as unemployed.

You wont belive anything is posative until a Republican is president, thats at least four years away.

Even the news articles I've read have made it clear that the rate dropped due to people dropping out of the market, giving up on the search. Oddly enough when the rate rises because people are re-entering the workforce will be more positive news than this. They'll rejoin the search when jobs are available.

Sour grapes are unbecoming!

Funny, but It seems to me we have had four Decembers in the last four years!

Simple explanations are not "sour grapes" they are reality. A more positive sign of improvement will be one that will be taken as ideologues to mean it is getting worse. They'll be wrong. You will not see me doing that though. I will tell you that it is a good sign.

Again. Oddly enough, it will be a good sign when the jobless rate rises because of people who are re-entering the jobs market. They'll not do that until jobs are actually coming to be available. Those same ideologues would cheer that happening with their party in power, but will say that the rate is rising without regard to the good news if the other party is in power. Ideologues will also ignore the reality that people who wanted to work have given up and therefore the rate is dropping now and will report it as good news regardless of the bad sign of people dropping from the market that would otherwise be looking.

I don't care who is in power, I'll recognize good signs when they're good and I'll hope they continue. We can't afford 4 more years of bad economic news, even if it will "help" our party to win.

I remember well when the rate at which unemployment was rising was decreasing... You refused to say that was a good sign. You said that did not indicate that unemployment would soon be droping, yet, very shortly after that... unemployment began dropping.

- Seventy-three percent of the new civilian jobs created in the United States over the last five months are in government, according to official data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In June, a total of 142,415,000 people were employed in the U.S, according to the BLS, including 19,938,000 who were employed by federal, state and local governments.
By November, according to data BLS released today, the total number of people employed had climbed to 143,262,000, an overall increase of 847,000 in the six months since June.

Correct. A good sign will be when the rate begins to rise due to more people entering the workforce. Back then I said the same things I am saying now. As long as people are dropping out at a greater rate than people are being hired, we have not yet entered a good jobs market.
