While, I'm against colonization for obvious reasons.

It's true, for example Ethiopia is much poorer than most of Africa & not officially colonized, except Italy's little incursion.

Same with Liberia, not officially colonized.

South-Africa, and Rhodesia were the richest of Africa, but Rhodesia turned nearly Communist upon Zimbabwe, and it tanked the economy with hyper inflation from overprinting money.

Also the Human height stature of Africa increased under Colonization.

A sign of improved nutrition.

Under Soviets Human height stature & also life expectancy jumped in Russia too.

To tell you the truth, Americans are a bit wrong on Communism.

It might not generate as much major wealth, but it is way better when it comes to equality & also immigrants.

I'm glad I can consider more sensible Catholic nations as a possible escape option.

Eastern Europe became more homogeneous under Communism.

Eastern Europe is becoming more diverse under Capitalism.

Russia today isn't much richer than it was in 1989.

But, it is filled with Muslim migrants to sustain the needs of Capitalist labor shortages, and Capitalist cheap labor.

I.E
Moscow in 1990 was about 1% Muslim, now it's 25% - 30% Muslim.

Soviet Poland deported millions of Germans, and Ukrainians in the 1940's.
By the 1960's they had the anti-Zionist protests, and limited Jewish positions, and let them leave the country for else where many went to Israel, or Sweden, or the UK. etc.

If not for these actions, Poland would have been very Balkanized.

On the inverse, in recent years Capitalist companies in Poland have been complaining about labor shortages.

So, Poland has bought in about a million of Ukrainian migrants in just 1 year, and also smaller numbers of Chechens, Vietnamese, Chinese, Bangladeshis, Filipinos etc. etc.

were those deportations in the 40s generally popular at the time?

how did those subgroups get along prior to the deportations? I believe peoples can organically learn to get along.

Yeah, Communism has always been a mixed bag in Russia. As bad as the Soviet Union was, it was a step up from the Czarist Russian Empire. Though it can be argued that it was even worse when Stalin was in charge. That's the problem with a dictatorship. You never know if at some point, you're going to get a dictator so bad, that the system isn't worth it anymore.
