The big question that so many need to answer...why didn't anyone care about Jordan Neely enough to get him help? New York just kept letting him go ( he had open warrants) and his father is only concerned now that there's a possibility of getting some cash...and that's not going to happen... BLM protesters never cared and don't really now...
 
Jordan Neely's death was a combination of many factors...as provided in expert testimony at the trial...
Daniel Penny did what he had to do that day...As mentioned in his interview, it was a situation that could not be ignored...
The people there that day were very glad that he was there to help...You all would have been happy if your family had been there... America needs to take care of it's citizens so that tragedies can be avoided...NYC at the top of the list...

IMO, Penny is innocent. He accidently killed an unarmed mentally ill man who had been threatening passenger. A judge and jury agrees.

Not innocent; not guilty. Even so, he is no hero to be put on a pedestal and given congressional medals. As I said earlier, if he had been a black veteran who choked to death a mentally-ill out-of-control white woman (or man for that matter), this thread would not exist.

This is, in part, why they lost.

The race of either man is irrelevant. There were blacks who testified that they believed that they were going to die and that Penny was a hero.

The far left loons have a peculiar habit of supporting the criminal element in America…like the criminals who violate our immigration laws.

As for a hero who deserves a Congressional gold medal, I disagree. A certificate of appreciation from the NYPD is more appropriate. :)

Note that Penny ignored Neely until he was threatening a mother and child. Neely was mentally ill and high on synthetic marijuana...probably to calm his demons, but the drug is capable of producing psychosis.

Neely boarded a New York City Subway train at the Second Avenue station just before it departed and reportedly began screaming that he was hungry, thirsty, and needed a job, saying that he was not afraid of going to prison and was "ready to die," threatening people. Juan Alberto Vázquez, a freelance journalist who witnessed the incident, said that Neely removed his jacket and threw it to the floor, in response to which other passengers moved away from him. Vázquez said that he did not witness Neely assaulting anybody. Other witnesses reported fearing death from Neely's actions,[3] which included his throwing trash at other passengers and approaching people. Penny then approached Neely from behind and put him in a chokehold.

Penny maintained the hold after the train had reached its next stop, Broadway–Lafayette Street, while other passengers held the doors open to prevent it from moving. During the chokehold, some bystanders warned Penny about Neely's health; one told him, "You're gonna kill him now!", while others helped in holding down Neely until police arrived.[4] Vázquez captured the final three minutes of the hold on video, which shows Penny applying it for nearly a minute after Neely had stopped struggling and gone limp. Prosecutors alleged that the chokehold lasted for six minutes, while Penny said it lasted less than five minutes. The case should never have been brought to the courtroom but it was and adjudicated correctly.

Not guilty and Penny is getting support from the President-elect on down to the real Americans.

Ashli Babbitt did not threaten to kill anyone, she was unarmed. She threatened no one. Her race does not matter.

The race issue is a moot issue with most Americans. Most people understand that race is not a choice. There are a few race merchants who profit but most of Americans have moved on.
