A Deadly Mix in Benghazi

Wrong again dunce; the bombing in Lebanon was on a Marine barracks near the airport who were there as a part of a UN peacekeeping force. They also attacked and killed a significant French force stationed nearby.

No one was asking for additional security in that case and the Marines were a peacekeeping force not a diplomatic mission.

Once again you illustrate what a poorly informed hyper partisan dunce you are. Thank you again for removing any doubt.

still no retraction and apology for this erroneous post?

Dying to change the subject?

That has already been answered, there was not a viable rescue mission that would not unreasonably risk more American lives.

Why was no rescue mission launched to save Pat Tillman?

That's bullshit. Pat Tillman was a combat soldier. My god, you people are really stupid.

apologize for insulting my intelligence. asshole.

YOU are the one who is poorly informed. I lived there. I served in that city. the naval attache was my bridge partner. YOU are the fucking dunce here. not me.

My mistake, I forgot about the embassy bombing and only remembered the devastating attack on the Marine barracks that caused more casualties.

I don't see any similarities. How can you argue that Reagan ignored security requests when terrorists bombed the Marine barracks and an embassy secured like a fortress? Did Reagan blame the attacks on a video for two weeks afterwards? We know why Reagan sent troops into Beirut; we don't know the purpose for Stevens being in Benghazi.

What you are refusing to acknowkedge is the fact that people died in Benghazi for no other reason than our leaders were campaigning instead of listening to their employees, and then, because of the POLITICS, attempted to blame the deaths and attacks on an obscure video. An Administration that continues to obfuscate to this day as to why they ignored the warnings and what purpose Stevens was in Benghazi for.

You can deflect, you can obfuscate and you can attempt to argue that this was just like Lebanon; but it isn't.

people who are appointed by the president absolutely choose whether or not to be an ambassador. It is their choice whether or not to serve. And if you knew anything about how most Ambassadors are "chosen", you would know that, in many cases, they certainly do have input as to their assigned missions.

Any comment about the Beirut thing? dunce?

Dear dunce, learn the difference between choosing to BE an Ambassador, and choosing to SERVE as one.
