A new era in race relations

Find out and get back to me when you do. Then you can use the excuse that women fear arrest if they flee their pimps.

Unless the reports of arrests also show whether the women were asked if they were being forced to do this against their will, it will prove nothing.

And, since the discussion has been about whether legalization helps or not, there is no way to compare those working in illegal vs legal venues. Since those in the legal ones won't get busted.

Yet I posted information that indicates that jurisdictions with legalized, state-regulated prostitution saw an increase in illegal prostitution, didn't I?

Yes you did. What you did not do is show that there is any causal factor. You also did not show that the lives of those women involved in legal prostitution was as bad or worse.

I didn't show anything. I cited this:

In "Prostitution and Trafficking in Nevada: Making the Connections," Melissa Farley argues that legalization has not improved conditions for women, but has worked in favor of pimps and brothel owners. The boom in the sex trade in Nevada has also made the state one of the main destinations for victims of human trafficking, observed U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney in the book's foreword.

In fact, after a two-year study of how prostitution functions in Nevada, one of the book's conclusions is that prostitution and sex trafficking are linked in the state as in other localities. "Sex trafficking happens when and where there is a demand for prostitution and a context of impunity for its customers," Farley stated.

Moreover, the legalization of prostitution has created a culture that promotes the sex trade, and far from eliminating illegal activities, both legal and illegal venues flourish. Farley calculated that Nevada's illegal prostitution industry is nine times greater than the state's legal brothels.

This is similar to what has happened in other places that have legalized prostitution, such as the Netherlands and the Australian state of Victoria, she added. In the former, legalized prostitution has made the country one of the major destinations for trafficked women, said Farley, citing several studies and declarations made by local authorities.

By contrast, places that have taken serious steps to stamp out prostitution, such as Sweden, have also seen a decrease in sex trafficking, Farley argued.

Indeed you did. Please show how it has not improved things for the women? I see three very obvious improvements. #1 the women are no longer committing a crime. #2 the women can call the police for things that happen while they work. And #3 they get checked regularly for any STDs.

The three improvements I gave are there. They say it has not improved conditions for women, but they only discuss those women working in illegal prostitution.

I don't see that distinction. I see a statement that legalization has not improved conditions for women, but has worked in favor of pimps.

Since I know that the working girls in legal places are required to be tested regularly, all 3 of the improvements I named are there.

Those 3 things alone are improvements.
