Shaken, not stirred!
We're coming up on 7 years since 17 people were killed in a mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, FL. The shooter used an AR-15 style assault weapon.
What followed were some of the surviving students of that tragedy becoming public political advocates. Their message was simple: any politician who votes against improving the gun laws that go towards preventing such tragedy (i.e., reviving the 1994 AWB) would be targeted in a voting campaign to remove them from office.
This resulted in various characters in the public eye actually criticizing and trying to throw shade on the young advocates. From TV to radio to print, the right wing machine that's in the pocket of the gun lobby went of the defensive. Most notable was Congress rep Greene (R-GA) doing a video of her harassing survivor David Hogg on Capitol Hill. Her complaint was that he was getting audience with congressmen and committee members that she could not. (no joke, it's on record).
Now I thought this was going to be the tipping point that would bring about final confrontation among Americans about doing the right thing "to promote the general welfare". I wrote on my FaceBook page that people will have to make choices, lose friends and family and social status because sides would be taken BECAUSE PROFIT BY A CORPORATION/BUSINESS WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CHILDREN'S LIVES.
But sadly, America did not learn it's lesson.
Now we have the major step by various factions to once and for all destroy any and everything FDR's "New Deal" has given America, along with gains made by the Civil Rights Movement.
It's no longer debatable .... the Christo-Fascist agenda is now embolden and quickly taking off the mask of civility. People who fear confrontation will soon have a choice .... capitulate, leave or fight back.
What form this will take is to be determined. But an indication is the public reaction to the murder of a health insurance CEO by an Ivy league educated, inherently wealthy young white man. People from both right and left are agreeing .... based on how his business screws over the general public, he had it coming. The caveat being "While I don't condone violence, I understand the motivation". I call that BS civility.
And now it begins.
