A Supreme Court justice’s solution to gun violence: Repeal Second Amendment

Four years ago, when — as now — the nation was reeling from the horror of a mass school shooting, a retired Supreme Court justice suggested a radical solution: getting rid of the Second Amendment.

In a March 27, 2018, New York Times op-ed, Stevens praised the protesters and their call for stricter gun control laws. “But the demonstrators should seek more effective and more lasting reform,” he wrote, about a year before his death at 99. “They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment.”

So at 97 Stevens was senile

DOZENS of times i've pasted dozens of quotes from the founders about their views on the 2nd Amendment........why does that remain something you willfully ignore?

I think the 2nd amendment is a fraud!

And I think you are a reckless careless idiot GUNTARDED FOOL that hides behind the 2nd amendment like hiding behind your mommy's skirt!

FUCKING COWARD!

Will you be coming for my guns, lizard lips?

Have you noticed what the steps are to alter the constitution?
Have you noticed how polarized the nation is?
Is amending the constitution even remotely likely in the foreseeable future?

It would be easier and, in the end, better to dissolve the republic and start from scratch.
Let blue states have a blue constitution and let red states have a red constitution.
We're desperately in need of a divorce....yesterday.

E Pluribus Unum you un-American stain.

You do realize that the Founding Fathers were prolific writers, and anyone who wants to look hard enough can find any quote for any of the Founding Fathers to support just about anything, especially if one is cherry picking to "prove" their point

I wouldn't support that.

But it's interesting that most who are vehemently opposed to this also applaud the dismantling of women's rights that SCOTUS is about to engage in.

Let 'em scream. It ain't gonna happen.

Nothing stops them from interpreting it sensibly. Would the Founders have approved of wide personal availability, including to teenagers, of modern weapons. Highly unlikely, and even more unlikely had they known what the future held.

The Supreme Court has NO authority to interpret or change the Constitution. You cannot repeal the 2nd amendment that way.

You leftist fucktards really want to be put down like the rabid idiot dogs you are, huh?

Fuck it, keep pushing, I wanna see this.

Guns are not the problem, the problem is motherfuckers like you.

Guns could solve that problem, that's why you don't like them.
