A third healthcare option?

I use universal healthcare all the time. It is my primary health care provider. I have been sick for 2 1/2 weeks now. Head congestion, my eardrum burst 2 Sunday's ago...went to the emergency room and got 2 shots and a supply of Amoxicillan. The congestion moved to the other ear, then to a sore throat, then my eye got some kind of gook in it and is really red. I figure it is all related. Emergency room Dr. said to go to Family Practice in a couple of weeks to get the eardrum re-evaluated. Can't get an appointment during that time so have to go as a "walk-in" yesterday. Got there, checked in, sat down & waited for 20 minutes. Some lady comes out and says, "If you are here as a walk-in we have cancelled all walk-in visits for today. If you are really bad you are welcome to go to the emergency room. Sorry." I am not emergency room sick so I just went home. Is this how it works in the real world of Doctors and hospitals or is this just isolated to my universal health care system?

Got news for you....that wasn't Universal Health Care you experienced...you just got an up close and personal taste of our for-profit health care system....where emergency and free health care clinics are at the mercy of State funds/rulings and limited federal subsidy or private donations.

You experienced what many working poor and poor folk experience every day across the country....that is NOT universal health care.

A universal healthcare system would have enacted funding and mandates so folk in your condition wouldn't have been left by the way side or as dismal.

I'm calling them and ALL politicos in Congress and Senate hypocrits for railing/stone walling against the average citizen from getting anything NEAR that type of health care. Honest, hardworking people who saved money, followed the rules and then go bankrupt because they get sick and their HMO/insurance company screws them.....or they die because the same company denies coverage for their treatment.

Dead Eye Dick wouldn't have lasted in the private employment sector with his medical record unless he was the founder of a company. But hey, he's GOT his, so it's all about the ideology and bucks for his buddies....screw you and me. Hope you realize that.
They worked for their benefits, why can't you work for yours?

So did the average citizens that I mentioned....so why should they get screwed over? Why should Cheney and company work AGAINST those citizens to get a more fair and/or similar shake from the insurance companies regarding healthcare?

You AVOIDED those issues in favor of a slanderous innuendo/accusation....typical, dishonest neocon tactic.

You cite some theoretical people only- no facts Libby. A typical, slanderous innuendo/accusation dishonest, liberal tactic.

Big Gubmint is ready, willing and able to create a vast new bureaucracy to manage healthcare with the usual excellence (efficiency, savings, etc.)

Just say the word....:cof1:

No, he's got a hell of a point. It's easy for some conservative politician to oppose health care reform. Why should they give a flying fuck about us? They have the best coverage in the world at tax payer expense. Who the hell are we to want what they have? [/sarcasm]

Sheesh, read a book for a change.

I'll give more consideration to your comments when you show the same outrage over your pal webway's regular violent slams, like this one: "What the hell are gays doing in Texas. I thought their was a state law to shoot them on sight?"
Do you want to be compared to a bigoted moron like Dweebway? Come on Christie, grow a thick skin and take the high road. Cheney's politics are not to popular with me either but I don't wish the man ill.

That makes no sense.
It makes all the sense in the world. Legislatures and high level administration political appointees have a golden parachute insurance policy paid for in full by the taxpayers yet they oppose a basic standard for health care coverage for all? It's a double standard and it's hypocritical. If they believe so strongly against health care reform via a public option then they should walk the talk and give up their publicly funded health care insurance and go buy that level of coverage from the free market.

It's what your suggesting that we should all do, why the double standard SM?

That's a bullshit argument. Their benefits are earned just like their paychecks are earned. You can argue that their benefits are excessive and I would agree with you, but by your logic all Americans should get legislative salaries and retirement benefits as well.

"Big gubmint" is already doing that by creating vast laws that protect the insurance companies, don't cha know. How do you think insurance companies got exempt from anti-trust laws?

And of course things are currently going so great...just ask Potter and Peeno.

By consistently advocating, supporting and promoting a "party line" that continuously supports and promotes the very system Peeno and Potter testified on that is doing damage to the taxpayers who make HIS excellent health care possible...which he STILL gets AFTER being out of office.

The testimony is valid, the situation exists....and Dick Cheney is a hypocrit, because his history on healthcare belies the FACT that without HIS PUBLICALLY FUNDED HEALTHCARE, he would be dead.

And Cheney worked against those folks how specifically?

His health care was provided by his employer, as a provision of his employment.

:palm: Read what he voted on and what he supported (as supplied), read the testimonies of Peeno and Potter. Cause and Effect, Southie....logical conclusion. Or are you going to play the same assinine game as your buddy Dixie, were unless there's a mea culpa statement, the end results and who caused them don't exist? You've always demonstrated your stubborn willful ignorance...don't act fucking stupid as well.

No shit sherlock.....WHO ARE HIS EMPLOYERS? Hint: the people who pay taxes.

So again, it's real interesting how a guy who enjoys excellent health care will act against anything near the same being for the very people who pay for his!

You can dance, bluff, bluster and deny all you want, but those are the cold hard facts. Deal with it...or in your case, don't.

Maybe the third time will be the charm. Cheney worked against those folks how specifically?
