AARP: Seniors are livid with the Right Wing Media: "Stop mocking Biden's age"

I see it as Right Wing hypocrisy. They didn't attack Trump's stumbles and gaffes. Only Biden's.

I mean, who claims that injecting disinfectant should be studied as an effective way to combat COVID?
Can you imagine what the Right Wing media would say if Biden said exactly what Trump said?
They'd be all over it like a rabbit in heat.

The sad reality is hypocrisy runs amok in partisan politics. And there is nothing wrong with calling out people on the right for being hypocrites. In fact it's a good thing. But if you don't want to fall into the hypocrisy trap yourself those on the left have to call out their own as well.

There's no link in the OP but, if we're talking hypocrisy, has the AARP called out those who attacked Trump, Pelosi, McConnell and Feinstein for their age? Or are they only upset when it happens to Biden?

Who attacked Trump, Pelosi, McConnell and Feinstein as aggressively as the right has on Biden? The right-wing media has been doing it for years/decades.

The ironic thing is, when you put one of Trump's press conferences up against Biden's, Biden comes across as more cogent and lucid than Trump.
Trump makes Biden look like a World-Class Orator.

Right wing media has been attacking Biden's age for decades? On one hand we should all be so lucky to be old enough to have been attacked for decades for being old, haha.

But without seeing the context of the AARP's statement I don't know if they are upset over him being attached for his age or the amount he's being attacked.

Maybe this is just me being a disrespectful Gen Xer (and I'm no spring chicken myself) but this doesn't move my needle for what gets me passionate in politics.
 
Some countries respect and honor the old people. We slur them. Their experience and knowledge are debased. Biden has no mental problems. Trump's problem was stupidity and lack of knowledge, not his Alzheimers.

Yes, for decades. I remember the right lambasting Biden after he and Obama won in 2008. Things like "VP Biden doesn't seem all there" or "there's something going on with Biden cognitively". That was two decades ago. Does that count?

I guess you don't pay much attention to the right wing media but now that Biden is president, they've really poured it on. They have turned up the volume to 11.
I could see how seniors in their 70s or 80s would be angered by this. Maybe they think it's a form of age discrimination.
I find it so ironic after four years of listening to Trump's numerous gaffes and misstatements. Too numerous here to mention but I'm sure you get the idea.

I don't disagree with the premise of showing elders respect. Even on here I catch myself stopping from saying things to certain posters because I know they are older. It would be like me yelling at my grandparents. Not that Seniors are above reproach but there is a level of respect due.

Well, I'm not a Grandparent yet so you don't have to feel that way when responding to me.
But the scientists will say that once the pandemic is over, nearly 650 thousand Americans will die from COVID. And 80% of them are over 65.

That's got to affect the senior demographic and that's the demographic that's been in the Republicans pocket for decades (there's that word again).
