ABOUT THAT "SOCIALISM" THING...

The rightwing does not even know what socialism is.

They are all over the map

They spent a decade calling Barack Obama a Marxist-Socialist.

They spent entire careers calling western european nations socialist.

Then they will quickly backtrack and try to claim socialism only means Venezuela, USSR, and Cuba

I really think the word socialism is the vestige of a residual psychological fear that generally only triggers certain people who are over the age of 60.

Yup.

Some!

I'm over 80...but I am not frightened by socialism as some of these people are.

And anyone who does not see that some borrowing from Socialism is in order for us...is either willfully blind or ignorant.

Yes Frank, we know you'd vote for Satan, the most horrific and evil bastard who will bring on Armageddon and destroy the world, over Trump. And you say you don't hate Trump

Sorry but if you'll reread Revelation 13,you will see Satan gave his power to the Beast(Antichrist)

Your posts just don't reflect your "happy and contentedness"... Just my humble opinion, but I'm not sure why you think they do...
Doesn't "bother" me...I'm just commenting...
I prefer and encourage positivity;)

Your pathetic life is one long passive/aggressive attack on all that don't kiss your brown ring, which seems to be only C.O.and once in awhile Earl,USF just uses you.
There isn't a thing positive about you!:)

If Bernie wins he will not install Socialism. President, Trump being the exception, are not dictators. He cannot overhaul what we have. he will simply attempt to help the people. That is radical in the Repub America. The government is for the wealthy and the plutocracy will come. Our healthcare system is a mess and rightys know it as well. But the wealthy are happy with it, so it will stay. Medical care is couch change to the wealthy. They get the best care.
The Coronavirus will not respect their enclaves. I suppose the survival rate for the rich will reflect their better healthcare.

You don't help people by giving them things they should be doing for themselves but refuse to do so.

...I have a few words to say about it...from a personal perspective.

In a couple of posts recently, it has been asserted that I would not vote for a socialist for president. I have said point blank that I would...and almost certainly will this next election, because I think Bernie Sanders will be the Democratic Party nominee (Bernie is a socialist)...and I intend to vote for the Democratic Party nominee, even if they were to nominate Satan.

Trump is so bad, I now consider ANYONE to be preferable.

Hell yeah, I'd vote for a socialist...and do so proudly.

My personal political objective is to see EVERYONE have plenty of the things needed (food, clothing, shelter, education, medical care, transportation, communication)...and at least some of the things that are wanted, but not necessarily needed.

I want that to be the case BEFORE anyone has to work in order to obtain it.

I am told my many that that cannot happen under our current economic system. So...I say switch to another system, and see if it can happen under it. I certainly am willing to give socialism a chance.

Other than that, I am waiting for the weather to change so I can get away from this goddam computer a bit more...and play some golf.

Bernie is not a socialist and neither are the Nordic countries he admires (Denmark keeps telling him they are not socialist). Government social welfare programs are not the same as socialism which requires nationalization of major industries. Even Bernie's Medicare for All leaves all aspects of medicine privately run.

Bernie says he is a socialist.

I take him at his word.

Most of the "Nordic" countries certainly have more elements of socialism than we have in our country...and I think they are the better for it.

I suspect we would better ourselves if we incorporated elements of socialism into our economic bent...and I suspect we WILL incorporate more and more elements as time passes, because those elements will help us past the difficult times our greatly advanced technological evolution are taking us.

Bernie is a social democrat based on his policies and compared to European countries. What he calls himself does not make him a socialist. He has called for no nationalization of American industries.

The Nordic countries are not socialist, they have expansive social welfare systems which is not socialism. Their industries are privately owned and are among the highest countries on the list of economic freedom and easiest to do business.
