Country singer and "white southerner" Brad Paisley has created a firestorm for his corroboration with black rapper LL Cool J for the song "Accidental Racist".

I get the message and agree to some extent. But why the hullabaloo about Paisley being racist?

I don't get it either, not the best song, but I don't get the outrage.
 
I would agree it's not a great song, but people have to let artists be artists. When a songwriter writes something, it can be from a variety of different perspectives; it doesn't have to be HIS viewpoint. Same with the movies, books, etc.
 
Paisley isn't the only one taking heat for this idiot song.

Yeah I totally get it as soon as I see confederate flag. I figured i was just torturing myself by even intervening on this thread though. ;)

Do I get what he is saying? Yes. I had not heard of the song before reading Toure's article. I admit I take Toure with a giant grain of salt on most occasions, but the lyrics he quoted and the comments he made on them made sense. I will certainly read any response by LL Cool J on what the song was supposed to be in his eyes... but from the lyrics alone, you have to say 'WTF' to both LL and Paisley.
