Acorn on Brink of Bankruptcy, Officials Say

BALTIMORE — The community organizing group Acorn, battered politically from the right and suffering from mismanagement along with a severe loss of government and other funds, is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy, officials of the group said Friday.

Over the last six months, at least 15 of the group’s 30 state chapters have disbanded and have no plans of re-forming, Acorn officials said. The California and New York chapters, two of the largest, have severed their ties to the national group and have independently reconstituted themselves with new names.

The Census Bureau ended its partnership with the organization for this year’s census, the Internal Revenue Service dropped Acorn from its Voluntary Income Tax Assistance program, and Congress voted to cut off all grants to the group.

Yes, and with new names will try and rebuild~~~the dems are not going to just lay down and lose their biggest ballot box stuffers!

btw~~~how the heck ya been?

Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now is the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, working together for social justice and stronger communities.

No wonder Conservatards hate ACORN and have concocted a mulitude of FAUX lies to discredit this fine organization.

The supposed ACORN "sting" video maker was arrested during his botched attempt to bug the phones of a Dem Senator’s office.

The progressive movement will change and continue to grow despite the big money devoted to lies and deception by the Wrong.

To date, five state chapters have incorporated themselves under new names. Additional spinoffs are expected in coming weeks.

The Obama administration is gearing up to fund ACORN again.

Federal judge Nina Gershon of the Eastern District of New York has made permanent a temporary injunction prohibiting Congress from cutting off funding for ACORN. Gershon found the denial of funding to ACORN to be an unconstitutional “bill of attainder.”

The Repugnantones have failed again.

Like I said before...what sank ACORN wasn't the neocon slander fest (which the courts ruled that little video dummy WRONG), but that nonsense with embezzlement and the "internal" handling of it.

For that, the national ACORN should be disbanded.

BUT,

The way has been shown regarding voter registration, etc. which is why you'll soon be seeing replicas of the following pop up throughout the nation:

Pretty well thanks. I had to by a new 'puter last fall and, for some reason, find myself spending less time online after "going without" for 6 weeks or so while waiting for Windows 7 to roll out. But thanks for asking.... ; )
