Software engineer lost his $150K-a-year job to AI—he’s been rejected from 800 jobs and forced to DoorDash and live in a trailer to make ends meet

Lutnick promised us all jobs screwing in tiny screws on iPhones (and then later promoted us all to "robot engineers" because everyone knows it takes about 1500 people/each robot to make the whole thing economical).

I DEMAND my robot engineer job, or failing that, to be able to screw tiny screws into iPhones all day every day.

I imagine it will eventually happen, but AI right now is not at the point of replacing a software engineer. Even junior developers catch glaring mistakes in the output.
