You say she fired in their direction, I have seen no evidence of any such thing. A wall near them is not the same thing. The fact that she got 20 years when no one was even hit, and the man admitted to being abusive, is a travesty. It's not even arguable. I'm really tired of arguing stupid shit that isn't even arguable. Just because righties, particularly you, like to argue for the sake of arguing. It's a bunch of nonsense.

It is arguable. The fact that she didn't hit anyone is a blessing, not a reason to excuse her action. Had the children not been there, I would agree with you. But it is reckless to discharge a gun in that situation.

Reckless sure, but since she had been abused by this man, and he is a serial abuser, and since we can reasonably conclude she feared for her life, as well as possibly the lives of her children, to put her in prison for 20 years is sick. She's only there because she's a black woman. I have serious doubts that a white woman would have been given this sentence, though I do believe that a white woman would be more likely to be imprisoned than a white man, much more likely. But 20 years? Highly doubtful, and if she was an Ann Romney type wouldn't happen at all.

You are just full of it today... it was a mandatory sentencing. She was given a deal for 3 years and she turned it down. Her lawyer is an idiot for letting her do that. The fact that you threw Ann Romney into the discussion is fucking pathetic.

She was given a chance to plead guilty but not feeling that she was guilty, she refused.

Ann Romney is a great example of the kind of woman afforded most of the benefits of the white male power structure. I'm sorry if you find that disturbing. Doesn't change the facts.
