They apply for asylum, so are not returned. How are you not getting this? It has been a problem for five years.

Central Americans are coming a few feet into the USA, and then applying for asylum. At that point, they(Central Americans, but not Mexicans) are allowed to present their case in an asylum court. The Republicans have cut the asylum courts, so there is an extreme backlog.

There are 330 million people in America. If there were 50 million illegal aliens in America, that would mean almost 1 in 6 people in America were illegal aliens. That is not reality.

Again, out of 1.6 million, two thirds are returned immediately, and over half of the remainder of returned within 30 days. That leaves a sixth that stay in the system for longer.

So some are returned, and others are not.

There is no way to get 2 million being let into the country from that.

It is not even one third of 2 million. It is one third of 1.66 million that are not expelled immediately. It is one sixth of 1.66 million that are still around a month later.

You have been unable to prove that one out of six people in America are illegal immigrants, or that 2 million people a year are getting asylum.

Of the 1.66 million migrants encountered in FY 2021, about two-thirds of all encounters by the Border Patrol between ports of entry resulted in migrants being immediately expelled. The remaining one-third resulted in migrants being detained or released inside the United States.

There is no way that one in six people in America are illegal aliens. There has been almost no net Mexican illegal immigration in almost 20 years. Central American asylum seekers are a real problem, but they are not coming through an "open border", and there are no where near 2 million a year of them.

Again, the alt right has derailed the debate with lies, and accusations that all facts are lies.

it is neither one third or two thirds who have been expelled.....it is none......you stated yourself that when they apply for asylum they are not returned.....are you pretending that two thirds of the people who come here illegally are not asking for asylum?......

I'm not claiming 2 million people a year are getting asylum......I'm pointing out that 2 million people crossed the border last year and were simply let loose.......that isn't granting asylum......that is ignoring the problem.....

It is almost impossible for Mexicans to apply for asylum, so they are almost all expelled immediately. Many others are also expelled immediately.

PMS is just making up claims at the moment. Two thirds are expelled immediately.

No, I did not. That is not true. Applying for asylum does not prevent most immigrants from being returned immediately.
