Welcome. I see several of the drones have already introduced themselves. Some are not only bitter and hate-filled, but also deeply sick and perverted. I tried to avoid putting anyone on ignore, but the site is noticeably better without seeing the posts from two particularly twisted bastards. The ignore feature works great for wiping them out of your feed.
That said, real debate is nearly impossible here unless you end up disagreeing with like-minded people. Those are the only productive discussions I've found. Despite what my history might suggest, I did try debating cleanly without insults at first, but quickly realized that doesn't happen here, so I switched to mixing hard facts and figures with slinging mud as well as, or better than, I receive it.
Regardless of your style, I hope you stick around. The more sane voices, the better. Oh, and the member who just changed their name from Maze to @Number Six is a complete moron who recently discovered AI chatbots are better at insults than he is (not a high bar). Since then, every one of his replies is pure AI-generated garbage. He's the first I've seen so blatantly using AI for every word. I suspect other morons will follow soon.
I think AI is going to ruin sites like this because, let's face it, once you know you're just talking to a chatbot, the whole point of these places collapses. Of course, idiots like Maze can't grasp that, and even if they could, they wouldn't care. Anything that lets them string together complete sentences must feel like learning to walk for the first time.
I hope I'm wrong about others jumping on the bandwagon, but I figured I'd give you a heads-up on this one since you're new.
