Allman Brothers Band Founding Member Butch Trucks Dead at 69

It was suicide.

The Allman Brothers Band co-founder Butch Trucks' death on Tuesday was a suicide, according to police records.
The Miami Herald reported the news, citing records showing the 69-year-old drummer shot himself in the head with a pistol inside his condo in West Palm Beach. The event reportedly played out while Trucks' wife of 25 years, painter Melinda Trucks, stood nearby. There is no foul play suspected.

Stunning news.

He was always one of the more "together" members of the band.

When the rest of them were fighting and at each other's throats, Trucks tried to stay above the fray.
