‘Amen and awoman’

Of course, you posting about the unrelated topic of the House replacing gendered language referring to a representative’s family members with gender-neutral terms is just more WHATABOUTISM, but hey, why should you start being consistent now?

It is? How so?

I'll understand of you can't explain, of course.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., altered the traditional ending of "amen" by saying "Amen and awoman" as he delivered the opening prayer for the 117th Congress on Sunday -- raising eyebrows.

The video was posted online and he was criticized by other lawmakers who said he was wrong to attempt to assign gender to the word "amen."

Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., took to Twitter to note that the word amen is "Latin for ‘so be it.’"

"It’s not a gendered word,"
he posted. "Unfortunately, facts are irrelevant to progressives. Unbelievable."

Former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed the move as fresh evidence of Democrats moving to the left: "the radical madness has begun."

I wonder if he has to change his first name in order to do business in the House?

Why should sacred affirmation of superstitious chant have a pro dick bias.

On these grounds I am for the resolution.

Can I get an Awoman?

Rep. Cleaver Offered Bizarre ‘Degenderizing’ of ‘Amen’ in Opening House Prayer

In a move that Members of Congress were still talking about after the close of their opening session Sunday, Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, D.-Mo., left jaws hanging when he concluded the opening prayer by “degendering” the word “Amen.”

“Amen,” said Cleaver, 76, a United Methodist pastor, and then added “And A-women.”

“Being that ‘Amen’ has nothing to do with gender and is actually derived from an ancient Hebrew word meaning ‘so be it,’ we never fail to impress here in the Show-Me State, do we?” tweeted former Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones.

:rofl2:

I agree, but that's not the issue here.

No, the issue is you whining about how a priest ended a prayer, then how you tried to change the subject to make your whining seem relevant, and finally how you got called out for your hypocrisy.

As usual, right winger love obsessing on trivia.

Trump attempting a coup and this is the shit they care about.

If they discussed Trump's attempted coup, then they'd have to acknowledge the truth and condemn his actions, and they will NEVER do that, so they offer up this distraction.

Like this?

DEMOCRAT California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and DEMOCRAT Massachusetts Rep. James McGovern, chairman of the Rules Committee, announced changes to the House rules that will “honor all gender identities” by modifying the pronouns and familial relations references in the rules, the Committee on Rules announced.

“Thanks to the leadership of Chairman McGovern and our Members, Democrats have crafted a package of unprecedented, bold reforms, which will make the House more accountable, transparent and effective in our work to meet the needs of the American people,” Pelosi said in a statement.

It appears that the Reverend Cleaver was complying with Speaker Pelosi's "bold reforms", which appear to be a priority.

Trump attempting a coup and this is the shit they care about.

Did you think DEMOCRATS were "attempting a coup" when they objected to certifying the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections?
