Gods that is inane. They provide less than 1% of the power to some folks in the US, shutting off their feed will not effect anyone, it is equivalent to one station going down and that happens constantly... the loads will level, they will not even know it happened.

They provide just a bit less than 1% of the power to some folks in the US, and as I explained it would be like one station going down, this is a constant thing they do on purpose as they load level. Shutting down the power from Canada would be like shutting one of those down, the loads would level, they would not even suffer even a tiny bit of outage.

Wrong. Canada supplies a small fraction of Americans with power when that power is cheaper than buying US power. If Canada stopped supplying it, the Americans who were getting it would simply now get their power from some US generation source. Nobody would be cut off or lose their electrical power.
