or any of the others here who applauded his claims without so much as providing a single example of their accuracy. For starters, take "John Green's" first two indictments:

1. How specifically is the DOJ "attempting to criminalize political discourse" by "prosecuting political dissidents"?

2. What schools "are insisting they have dominion over our children in matters of gender choice, sexuality, and racial equity", and what is the form both of all this "insistence" and of that "dominion"? If you mean K-12 schools, there are about 100,000 of them.

Well, the evidence shows McCarthy's hearings were a witch hunt - they targeted and damaged the lives of innocent people. That is apart from the carryover of communism that became a problem during the Depression.

There's a great book titled 'Blacklisted by History....author: Stanton Evans, that goes into detail into his 6 years of intensive research reveals that there was this relentless communist drive by Moscow spymasters and their agents in the United States to penetrate our government, influence its policies, and steal its secrets. US officials supposedly guarding against this danger not only let it happen but actively covered up the penetration. All of this was precisely as Joe McCarthy contented. Evans shows that practically everything we've been told about McCarthy is false, including conventional treatment of the famous 1950 speech in West Virginia where the Senate casually dismissed McCarthy charges, and much more.

I don't know or care of who this david oshinsky guy is, but I did read Evan's detailed 605 page book that went into great detail as to how and why McCarthy was blacklisted by the senate commies et al. I doubt this david oshinsky guy ever read a book this long and this detailed on any particular subject of McCarthy, let alone on finding the many ways he (McCarthy) was subjected to a partisan crew of commie deniers that had infiltrated our government back in the late 40s and early 50s.

"This David Oshinsky guy" is a professor of history at New York University and the author of a dozen published books on American history, one of which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize.
