American Corps. fighting against improved labor rights/working conditions in China

"What kind of human beings defend those type of working conditions?"

Wealthy ones mostly.

Its not universally true.

Allegedly Henry Ford the 1st, and the dude who currently owns CostCo. figured out that paying your workers a decent wage, and treating them decently was simply good business.

Just like Imus haded to be shamed of the airwaves the Chineese and their American buyers will have to be shamed into changing.
I say microsoft can be shamed easier than Chineese gov, talk about thick skin. The let workers lose limbs and don't blink an eye.

Yes the Americans themselves /ourselves are the root cause remove the demand for Chinese goods and the supply will dissappear. But we are too spoiled and quite frankly in a hole about it. If we cut off buying Chinese now our economy would collapse.

If the price of fuel keeps increasing then many of those goods will cease to be competitive -- assuming that any mfg. remains here.

It's so funny too, because they tell us that "through trade, china will stop being totalitarian, as the people become wealthier". It's all a fat fucking lie.

Does anyone else here believe that the solution to world power problems exists, but they are keeping it secret until they've used the oil problem to maximum advantage?

But we are not the only market for the manufacturing firms that moved offshore....
And with consolidations and such limiting the domestic manufacturing locations anyway....bigger is not always better. And having all your eggs in one basket is seldom better in the long term.

I'm relatively certain that one of the oil corps either already purchased the new technology or developed it.

Is there a resurgence of nuclear power plant anywhere that you know of? I would think nuclear may even be better than.... nothing.

the only thing I'm certain of is azzhat is a moron with a shitty job.
And the rest of you are circle jerking him on the fuel.
Are you guy's so poor that $3 gal hurts. LOFL

Gas is cheaper in inflation adjusted terms than 25 yrs ago. And it's takes half the % of income as it used to.
:pke:

Spin is technically correct. We are spoiled and maxxed out on spending for the most part so it is noticed. Strange to me to buy a 40K auto/truck and whine over 1k or so more a year for fuel to run it.

Nuclear is a very clean option, and is presented as a horrible option often by those whom it would serve far better than current coal-power and oil, such as environmentalists.

I'd prefer to build more nuclear power facilities than to continue to allow about 60% of our oil usage to be in such secondary usages to driving.
