I actually like the first few shows where they weed through the people who make you wonder, "Why would you ever think you could get on the show." After that, barring the Carrie Underwood year, I don't watch.

I saw a tryout episode last night. The performances were horrible. Do these people really think they have talent?

Unfortunately, and that is why it is bittersweet entertainment...some of us wee ourselves in these people.
I give them props, I would never sing for Simon!
