The part you seem to be forgetting is the converse of what you said here, namely that MANY of the people who voted for Hillary Clinton would have voted for Trump rather than for Sanders...or would have stayed home. No worry about that. Bernie Sanders will be 79 years old by 2020 election. Way too old to take on the hardest job in the world. He won't run. And if he does, he won't win.
They really should pass a law that anybody over 75 can not run for a presidential election or for Congress. They have age limits for many other professions. They should have age limits for some of the most important professions in our country. People that actually run our country.
 
Reagan has alzheimers when he was in office. it was covered up. When he gave press conferences(remember those) They were careful to keep them on as few subjects as possible. Hopefully one. The staff dreaded him going off script.
