And it doesn't include what the church staff does on a typical day, such as ministering to the sick, those in prison or addicts. Then there's counseling services...

But the point escapes you as usual; Liberals are the ideology of dependence and wanting everyone else to foot the bill for their unrealistic societal engineering. If Liberals think it is great to give people in need money without question, then rich Liberals, who are the majority of the truly wealthy, should just open up their checkbooks and provide for all these indigents they claim to care so much about.
Let Government do what Government does best; legislate, adjudicate and defend the nation. The rest of us can tend to those who are in need. Without the burden of Government theft through redistribution schemes dreamed up by corrupt politicians duping gullible voters, industry can once again provide the jobs needed for a strong and growing economy.
What makes you think there are not hundreds of thousands of childless couples not willing to adopt?
