So you're talking about the US intervention in the Libyan civil war. I thought maybe you were referring to US drone strikes in Libya. Yeah, the "Libyan adventure" as you call it, was not authorized by the AUMF. That was a War Powers Act deal. The WPA should be repealled, too, particularly because Congress doesn't do squat when it's deadlines are not met.

The drone strike business is all under the AUMF.

In our "retaliation" for 9/11 .. what have we accomplished? Bin Laden was never charged with it .. Bush and Cheney said they didn't accuse him of it.

Secondly, the military is unsuited to fight terrorism. The success rate of the military stopping terrorism is abouy 7%.

International police agencies do a far better job of stopping it.

The study by the RAND Corporation, a think tank that often does work for the US military, also urged the United States to drop the "war on terror" label.

I take it you don't agree with President Obama on that issue.....and yeah, the Talliban is still in Afghanistan as is AQ.....
If its your belief that Obama is a terrorist and targeting civilians, so be it.....

Thats a bit harder for me to answer, not being privy to who or what is targeted today and why.....
if nothing else, the war and drones should keep the terrorists in hiding more, less apt to roam freely around the world or even reveal their whereabouts...

Its been 12 years since we've had an attack like the WTC, no passenger liners attacked, passenger planes blown from the skies or mass killing of US citizens, etc...
I'd be more inclined to thank Bush and the earlier years of the war on terrorism for all of that....

Even if that is all we've accomplished, I'll accept it....and only wish we could kill more of them....if they escalate their insane Jihad with the West, the killing
will escalate as needed....if they stop, the killing will stop....its ironically, that simple.


I will still support the US in using drones against them, even if it means supporting Obama on this one issue.....
American foreign policy is intact...and both parties seem united on this.....so you (and Darla) are kinda out there on your own as far as this being a political
party issue.

I love how a terrorist is now a person who doesn't want a foreign army in their country.. I sure as fuck wouldn't want one either and I'd be a lot less civil about it than most of the natives in the ME.
