An estimated 23K active duty service members use food stamps.

President Donald Trump's proposals to cut eligibility for food stamps would hit hard on thousands of military families who receive the benefit, the Pentagon said Tuesday.

This is why the myths about "welfare queens" and "illegals taking our benefits" are so destructive. The tards believe that shit, then agitate for reforms. And cut the dinner plates out from under the very vets and active military they claim to love so much.

Most of that huge proposed budget expenditure for the military is not going to the ppl who actively serve or did serve. It's going to bloat the wallets of the executives of the defense industry contractors. Anyone who's ever worked for one knows what waste and outright fraud exists in those companies. There's a JPP poster whose name I've forgotten who talks about that from time to time. If the conservaturds are so adamant about cutting govt. waste, why aren't they calling for audits of that abuse?

While That would be awful for the young troops (and I oppose it), maybe if we paid them better then their families wouldn't need the SNAP program in the first place.

Maybe if we used the military instead of private contractors, we could afford to pay them better? Let's not forget...combat vets get boatloads of benefits once they leave service. That's factored into their pay already.

Please enlighten me on these "Boat loads of benefits" vets get.

If our military qualifies for SNAP,they aren't being paid enough!

'Free' healthcare for life

50% savings on property/school taxes on primary residence

Free college/vocational training

How's that for a start? That's once they get out. Married active duty members get a housing stipend for family. My buddy was in the service when the first Gulf War broke out. They pay him thousands of dollars/year to attend college.

At VA facilities or approved civilian facilities. (Shouldn't the government compensate those injured or sickened in the line of duty?) Funny even civil service local state and federal have basically the same benefits for job related medical expenses. Guess you think vets deserve less.

"50% savings on property/school taxes on primary residence"

Damn I'm a retired military vet and I sure have never seen 50% off my property or school taxes. BS FLAG unless you have verifiable proof.

"Free college/vocational training"

Called the GI bill which has been in effect for the last 60 or so years.

"Married active duty members get a housing stipend for family."

Yes which is considered part of their compensation for lower pay.

"My buddy was in the service when the first Gulf War broke out. They pay him thousands of dollars/year to attend college."

Program for active duty called tuition assistance. Most large corporations offer the same programs.

Seems like you have a hard on for the very people ready to lay down their lives so you can have the freedom to call them free loaders.

She views our military as Security Guards for the oil companies

My point stands. Every benefit you re listed is a perk only military personnel get. If you weren't a combat vet, you don't get the savings on your property taxes.

Active duty don't get the education benefits I'm talking about. Full time students do, with another housing stipend if they qualify.

Career choice. If you don't like the compensation, work in Walmart. Most kids that come out now sign up for six figure salaries with the private military complex.
