And Ron Paul is the Sane One

All currency is forged unless we're trading with gold coins anyway, don'tcha know.

I suggest we start trading in gold, IB1.

And whenever it's time to pay our taxes, we should send in scrap metal equal in value to whatever they requested. We don't want to send forged documents for our taxes, now do we?

Gold coins stamped with a likeness of Ron Paul aught to do.

Cypress, there is a difference between a Union of said countries, and one government for all three. the "shred" of truth the author mentions is what I am speaking about.

Personally, i am not against such a union, as long as it is limited, reasonable, and doesn't only serve the well-off.

I don't think a tri-national union would result in any of those things. But I'm not as freaked out about the possibility as many libertarians seem to be because I dont' see it as realistic.

Most Americans have no desire to merge with Canada and Mexico. Period.

I'd like to see a South American union. If they could find a way to cooperate they'd do a lot of good for themselves.

I really don't think Canada and Mexico would like to be drug into the dirt by the US, either.

OLMLGNCKZ?!!?!:?!@ OJGLMHAHZZ!?!!

OINE INTERNATIONAL CURRENCY ASOOMNGZ!!?!?!?!:111 WOW ID DIN'T KNOW THEY WERE THAT EVIL!

Yeah, omg. They can inflate with no checks at all and when the collapse comes it affects all. Then we go back to barter or continue getting robbed.

You need to inform yourself. This is not some crazed conspiracy (they openly advocate it) and if you don't what's bad about then you are either clueless or burying your head in the sand.

I do not believe NAU is likely in my lifetime, but there are a bunch of people who are otherwise intelligent that don't understand the danger in it. I very highly doubt one money will happen in my lifetime.

I agree. It is not likely. The US still has a strong independent streak and a open move towards it would likely draw heavy fire. But the shit hits the fan (our economy goes bad) and with so many people, even smart ones, completely ignorant of the dangers in a NAU, it's possible.

The cultural differences between US/Canada and the Mexicans is a little to big for a true national union. At most it'll be an economic union. But if the nations feel like uniting, I really wouldn't lose any sleep over it. But Mexicans, Canadians, and Americans would really have to *feel* that we're all one nation, which could take hundreds of years. Hell, the citizens of the United States were much more simialar in culture, and it took over 100 years to become truly a nation-state.

You keep believing that power will not centralize without this "feeling", I do not believe that would be true.

The natural tendency for government power is to centralize. Come on water, read a fucking history book. EU power is encroaching more and more all the time. Again, the US, is a good example. And not just the states to the fed, but the rise of the imperial President (cheered on by lefties).
