You have to look at it in the context of Obama’s promise to ‘fundamentally transform’ the country—in to what exactly, no one seemed to be sure lol.

But millions of people voted for him anyway. You act like it’s a bad thing to aspire to make the country ‘great again’.

Regarding those who think this country sucks: if that were true, we wouldn’t have an immigration problem. Millions of people want to get here and no one seems in a big rush to leave.

Amusingly, even those who promised to leave if Trump was elected president.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make the country greatER. "Great again" is a lame judgment call. On almost any level, Obama did not remove "greatness." He brought us back from a huge crash, to near full employment & a robust stock market. No matter how partisan you want to be, that is undeniable.

The context of Obama's "promise" has nothing to do w/ it. What Trump's entire slogan was is fundamentally the same as what Cuomo said. Trump may as well have said "this is not a great country."

Fundamental transformation is only done to things that are in need of a drastic overhaul.

The implications of ‘fundamentally transforming the country’ offended many Americans in precisely the same sort of reasons lefties whine about Trump wanting to ‘make America great again’. Michelle Obama was so excited about the prospect of transforming the country she was ‘finally proud of the country’ or whatever she said.

It’s the exact same thing.
