Another day in America

Shots were fired at Columbiana Centre mall on Harbison Boulevard Saturday, the Columbia Police Department reported at about 2:30 p.m. People have been injured in the shooting, and officers were evacuating the mall, the department said. The injured people are getting medical attention. Columbia Police Deputy Chief Melron Kelly said multiple people have been shot, but there are no fatalities reported. Eight people have been taken for medical treatment, but it’s not certain how many of those people were shot. Some might have been trampled after shots were fired, Kelly said.

Non story and you know why.

That is terrific. Another crazy person exercising their 2nd amendment rights. It makes you feel proud. In other countries, this is not possible. They don't have that right. I feel so special.

"Three people have been detained in the investigation. Holbrook said police do not believe this is a random shooting and that the people knew each other."

Probably gang related.

Agreed, but even then I think there's mental health issues.

FWIW, I've been to that mall several times although it's been about ten years. My company had us stay at one of the hotels up the street. https://www.google.com/maps/place/C...a5ad2907a203a5!8m2!3d34.0786359!4d-81.1574391

On the southside of the mall, outside Belks and across the parking lot is a sidewalk/trail that leads to the Harbison Walking Trail around the lake. Around lunch time there are other joggers and MILFs pushing buggies. It used to be one of my favorite overnights.

I'd jog to the lake, around it 2-3 times than head back to the Mall to cool down in the A/C eventually ending up in the food court and walking back to my room.

Injuries have been reported following a shooting incident at the Columbiana Centre mall in Columbia, South Carolina, Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Collectively, Americans do not care. From what I can gather there are two reasons:

One, any limitations on firearms would prevent them from standing up to tyranny (such as having to wear a mask during a pandemic).

Two, providing mental healthcare Might cost wealthy people a little bit of money.
