Another SpaceX "musk up" as 9th test flight ends in failure ....

From what I've read, humanity doesn't need our particular sun to survive- the only thing that seems necessary is energy and the ability to convert it into what we need to live.
You are omitting humanity from your result- as does the concept of space colonization.

Such as? Surrender Ukraine to Russia to "stop the killing"? Force Israel to suck it up and leave the Jihadists alone? Let Iran have nukes?
Yes, Iran- in fact any law-abiding anti-Zionist country- should have the weaponry required to force Israel- and by association the US of AIPAC- to end all thoughts of conquest/hegemony and show the world some manners and respect.
An Iran with nukes would not attack Israel or the US of AIPAC- because both have nukes. An Iran WITHOUT nukes is next on the Zionist/US of AIPAC plunder list- no matter what Iran does to appease their criminal intent.
Russia, China, North Korea, India, Pakistan are all safe from Zionist/US of AIPAC attack.

How am I omitting humanity and what result are you referring to?
Your stated ' result' is a sun-less, 'energy-powered ' shadow of humanity. What you appear to believe that humanity can be replaced by is machines.
Well.................................fuck that.

No, that's not what I was saying. Our sun isn't the only star in our galaxy and it's not inconceivable that we could find another to call our home before the current one turns into a red giant, destroying any life on earth.

Yes, it is inconceivable. What would arrive at this impossibly-far , imagined destination would no longer be human.
We have a perfect world, perfect for us, our home . It is already our space-ship. Let's rid it of those that would destroy it before leaving.

Believe it- he doesn't mean OUR moon any good.

I don't know about that. There's a lot of science fiction out there that suggests it may be possible one day, even as humans. What we can agree on, to quote a line from the silo tv series, is that day is not this day.

Define human. Do you mean just the species? The genetics? Or do you mean the spirituality? The essence of an intelligent mind? Something in between?

No, it can never be possible in reality. It is a physical impossibility. But all things are possible in the imagination. Be content that we have this gift- maybe shared by all living things. All of ' creation ' is ours. All we have to do is think about it. That is true intelligence. Physical space-travel is for dumbasses- and their futile efforts are contributing to the fucking-up of our world.

Fuck off, pimp. I'm communicating with a sentient being who keeps it in his trousers.

What draws you to that conclusion?
What draws you to that conclusion?
The distances could not be crossed by life as we know and appreciate it.

Here's a notion though- a sort of compromise for those that believe it's important that our physical bodies make journeys.

An interesting science-fiction novel might feature the complete gentic mapping of two humans, male and female. This information might be aimed at a ' target ' region along with the physical stuff required to recreate them, the elements, the chemicals, compounds- mainly water after all.

There- no need to cut the legs off Adam and Eve and stuff them into cryonic suspension after all !!

Translation: Gee, Dutch. I don't have a fucking clue.

No worries, Ms. Moon. I was hoping you had a coherent thought between your hairy ears, but you continue to prove being a disappointment. Sad.

As with her lack of being able to define "human", she doesn't have a clue about spaceflight.

One method is a "Generational Ship". A giant spaceship where the inhabitants who left our solar system would be a few generations removed from those who arrived. It would accelerate to near light speed over years of constant thrust from an ion engine and then flip over and decelerate upon arrival at its destination.
