Further proof it is impossible for me to have an honest discussion with STY.

All one has to do is read the complete bullshit he attributes to me to understand it's all about hyperbole and seldom about the facts when discussing guns with STY.

There is a WORLD of difference between a dispute between two adults and a freaking home invasion...or protecting a woman from someone who was BEATING her.

I understand I'm not going to get an honest discussion from STY...but I always thought you were a little more capable of holding an honest dialogue.

again, I used hyperbole. what you have said, though, is that only cowards use guns to settle disputes while those that use fists are brave and courageous. an absolutely ludicrous position by the way.

Suuuure...it's "hyperbole" when you use it, but it's a "lie" when I do the same thing.

Hyperbole-starts with a Hy and that rhymes with LIE and that's EXACTLY what you did.

And I am sorry, but if a person needs to have a gun strapped to his leg/shoulder in order to feel brave enough to confront an angry stranger, then yes, he is a coward.

Bullshit, your whole intention, and many other people on this board, is to paint all gun owners as emasculated men who have to own a weapon to feel like a man. You all used the language anytime someone begins to point out that your rhetoric does not fit the facts. There are now dozens of websites that are dedicated to posting verifiable uses of firearms in self defense and defense of others. My bet is that at years end you will be able to find far more verifiable defensive use of firearms stories on the internet than you will of people being murdered by a firearm. The CDC numbers for actual homicides by fire arm are already lower than the number of people that intentionally commit suicide by fire arm. If you want to HONESTLY debate firearm danger and death, compared to use of firearms in self defense, then get the numbers that prove more people a year are murdered by firearms than are saved by them. You can't do it. The federal governments own numbers from CDC and DOJ show you can't. DOJ's own numbers show more defensive uses of firearms than the murder numbers collected by CDC.

seeing how this comes from the same person who said that defusing an argument wearing a gun on your hip is cowardly, but threatening to use your fists to end it is not, we're not surprised that you won't understand it. that happens with people who refuse to acknowledge their own shortcomings of cowardice. maybe you should read that article again, the anti gun male. At around 4 a.m. Thursday, a man who does not want to be identified, said his brother was robbed by six men with guns at a Denny's off the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston.

Police said there was a shootout, but it is not known how many shots were fired at the time. However, police said the gunshots did hit cars in the parking lot.

No bystanders or customers were injured.

The group of suspects fled the scene.

some people here believe that if bystanders would have been injured, the shooter should be prosecuted since she didn't wear the badge of the state. but if she HAD worn a badge, there should be no accountability even if a dozen bystanders had been injured. they might have even said that the robbers should be charged with the injuries.

totally ludicrous, but then again, they have no common sense regarding reality.
