Okay, one of the things that our national press is NOT saying about Mubarak's stepping down from power (so far) is how WE (the USA) supported the little bastard for the last 30 years with the very military hardware used to suppress his people.
This is one of the reasons why Obama had to be VERY careful about what he publicly said...and why our State Dept. is very apprehensive as to any new gov't attitude towards the country that supported the dark times of their countries history. Egyptians, like the Iraqis, like the Iranians, may forgive, but they don't forget. And the Cold War was NO excuse for turning a blind eye to despotism...especially since the collapse of the Soviet Union 20 years ago.
The American people must understand that our history of direct intervention in various middle Eastern and West African countries is the fertilizer that sprouted such things as the Ayatollah Kohmeini, Saddam Hussein and Mubarak. We picked up were the Europeans and Russians left off....and as our chickens come home to roost, we best be ready to honestly deal with them if we want a good outcome.

Pay attention, you Beefy bumpkin: I didn't say we had anything to do with the revolution, did I? But, WE SUPPORTED A NASTY DICTATORSHIP THAT SUPPRESED IT'S PEOPLE FOR 30 YEARS....as we supported the Shah Pahvil, as we supported Hussein. Now that the PEOPLE have revolted, and the ARMY (using OUR weaponry) is the wild card, America and it's leadership jolly well better not start mouthing off s. Like Wael Ghonim said tonight on 60 Minutes , they don't need the USA to be involved because we suported Mubarak. And to dumb it down for you further, I was saying that the COLD WAR was NO excuse for the continuous support of the likes of the Shah or Hussein. WTF is the matter with your reading comprehension, Beefy?
