That's fine, if someone can afford one; but are you worried about one of your children sneaking into your bedroom and sneaking the gun into a different room?

That biometric pistol safe is on sale for $99.88. The regular price is $129.99. If they can afford a gun they can afford a secure place to store it.

I bought my pistol safe a few years ago when my daughter was younger and would have sleepovers with 3 or 4 other girls. I wanted to be sure the gun was safe but still accessible.

While you're on the right track, you're incorrect.
Just because someone can afford a gun, doesn't mean they have the money for a safe.
Now add in the firearms that are given as presents or as part of an estate; because now the only thing they are "affording" is ammunition.

Zappy was born with a short fuse and he is constantly reminded of it by people he personaly knows, so he is very irritable and can "go off" on just about anyone who suggests that they know about his short fuse. I have known Zappy for many moons and if I bring up the subject of his "short fuse", he will blow it.

You were equating guns and lightening and then moved on to you getting a call in the middle of the night.
It would appear that you have no problem with people stealing cars and then getting into a DUI accident that results in death.

I would suggest to the novices out there... ALWAYS assume it is loaded. Basic safety tip. As Don stated, always check to see if chamber is clear. Never point it at anything/anyone unless you intend to shoot that thing/person.

For the dumbasses of the world... never let a five year old have access to a loaded weapon without supervision.
