Another Traitor Monument Comes Down

Great
A statute of a confederate soldier who didn’t own slaves and didn’t know what he was fighting for.
Tear it down.
At least this time it wasn’t mob mentality.

There is a confederate cemetery in Fredericksburg with a monument.
What can we do about that?
Perhaps we can plan to tear down that monument and rename the cemetery. Give me a date this can happen. Let’s organize.

Apparently you don't understand the difference between a monument to a war fought (in the South) on behalf of slavery that is placed in a public area, and a cemetery where ppl who died in that war are buried. One is visible to all who go into that public place; the other is more akin to a museum -- you only go there if you want to visit it. Put these statues in museums in the section devoted to that era of history. Destroying them doesn't change that history.

And yet you don't deny it

There's no point. We've all seen the racist jokes, spiteful attacks on celebrity black ppl, support of the most virulent JPP racists, and attempts to goad black JPPers.

Like a dutiful stalker, she will now gleefully seize this post and re-post it on her infamous Can'tStopThinkingAboutOwlSomebodyPleaseHelpMe thread. I fiddle, she dances. Wait for it!

If we are to make statues out of the players of America's bad history we should make statues of these moments in history.....

Do these morons even know, it's often been the city, or establishments decision to remove these statues?

the guy cant follow the conversation even after just 2 posts

So...it's weird how you say one thing, but then refuse to defend it when asked follow-ups.

Seems to me that you're insecure in your beliefs. You have to be to fantasize about violent conflict to settle debates.

I said nothing of the sort. Go find what I've said and post it here.
I am quite secure in my beliefs, like I said, come here and find out.
I fantasize about nothing, I am ready for whatever comes.

You, on the other hand, form an opinion of ancestors of this country
when none of yours were here during the conflict. What makes you
think you have any right to? You scum come here and try to destroy
our heritage and traditions and call us traitors? Kill yourself.

Fair enough.

What "heritage"? I don't understand what you mean by "heritage" and "traditions". The heritage of the Confederates is racism, slavery, losing, and treason. Am I missing something?

And what "traditions" of yours are being destroyed? The tradition of staring lovingly and longingly at a statue of a person who fought against this country to preserve the right to own slaves????

I hear nebulous "heritage" arguments, but they're always undefined.

A statue honoring soldiers who fought to destroy the union is terrible. They were fighting the United States of America to preserve slavery. I don't find that honorable. This kind of history belongs in museums and in history books, not a place of honor on a campus. Benedict Arnold does not have a statue in a place of honor. Matter of fact, none at all. And he was a great revolutionary war general .

The statues shouldn't exist. Full stop.

Fair enough.

If course you know nothing of our "heritage" and "traditions," you just go along with the scum who despise them.
Tell us, what does our civil war have to do with you? None of your ancestors were here during the civil war, what
gives you the right to even form an opinion about it? This country came back together to become the strongest,
most powerful country on the planet. Assholes like you want to destroy us internally, why do you wish us destroyed?

So what?

And what does this have to do with the "heritage" and "tradition" you say are being destroyed, yet refuse to define?

So what is the "heritage" that is being destroyed? Use your words.

gives you the right to even form an opinion about it?

Fuck you, that's what right I have.

This country came back together to become the strongest, most powerful country on the planet.

In spite of you, not because of you.

You're the ones who didn't like the country, remember? That's why you turned your back on it.

You don't even like the Constitution; that's why Confederates created a new one.

So fuck off with this bullshit.

Assholes like you want to destroy us internally, why do you wish us destroye

You're the ones who seceded, not us.
