A "pretty fair" write up...
I hate to break it to you SF, but only a partisan hack such as yourself would call the screeching, ad hominem filled diatribe a "pretty fair" write up blah blah blah.
What...you think because it comes from a website with "science" in the site name, that qualifies it as "factual"?
Fair my ass. It's completely absurd. There are plenty of anti-science ignoramous on both sides of the political aisle and the irrational left may take stances against ionizong radiation, vaccines and GMF's that defy science but they have hardly any mainstream influence and can hardly compare to the vast and sweeping denials of huge bodies of knowledge that we see on the right when they denounce climate science and evolutionary science. The article, in context of opposition to mainstream, science is absurd!http://www.science20.com/science_20...nt_editors_shouldnt_write_about_science-86110

Polls show that even in this day and age over 60% of the population does not believe in evolutionary theory and those same polls show 80% of those are on the political right.
Now when you conisder that evolutionary theory is foundational to the entire science of biology to then equate a handful of lunatic fringe on the left who may not believe in vaccination with the tens of millions of people on the right who do not believe in the foundational building blocks of an entire science is beyond ludicrous and is down right laughable!
care to dispute any facts listed in the article? or are we just supposed to take your word for it?
i have a hunch you didn't even read the article because it doesn't comport to your world view. it was actually a good article, assuming his facts are true.
You mean like this one? http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/darwin-birthday-believe-evolution.aspxuh huh...sure mott
http://www.gallup.com/poll/145286/four-americans-believe-strict-creationism.aspx
try using a poll instead of your opinion
You mean like this one? http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/darwin-birthday-believe-evolution.aspx
Oh...and btw, your link pretty much supports my comments. 40% of the population believes in strict creationism and the over whelming majority of them are on the political right.
I don't give a shit who believes what. I only give a shit about the people that want their beliefs taught in schools as science. Those people are Republicans.

Nip, nip, nip....how many evengelicals do you see on the left?bullshit.
1. your poll doesn't even mention republican vs. dems
2. my poll is more current and it says only 52 percent of republicans, 34% dems. that is not an "overwhelming" majority and a far cry from your bogus claim of 80%.
3. in fact when you include the independants, pubs are'nt even the majority of americans as you claim.
Nip, nip, nip....how many evengelicals do you see on the left?
You're not reading the link you provided correctly. It's showing that 52% of Repubs believe in strict creationism It's not stating that 48% beleive in evolution.
Be that as it may, you're parsing and splitting hairs. Vast numbers of those on the right simply don't believe in vast sweeps of mainstream science for a far larger degree then those on the left do.
